Overview & Reviews
Since the Maxima was updated last year and is scheduled for a redesign in 2004, there are no major changes in store for the family sedan in 2003. There's a Titanium Edition package available for the SE and side airbags are now standard on GLEs.
- Impressively powerful V6 engine, sports car moves, availability of premium features, plenty of room for five adults.
- High price, rough ride quality with SE suspension.

Amazing All Around - 2003 Nissan Maxima
By Chiefslax1 - March 1 - 10:00 amI absoulty love this car. When I sit behind the wheel i forget im in a sedan and think im in a sports car. The car has excellent pick up off the line, and the sports suspension hugs the corners. The bose stereo is a great option for serious music lovers.

Why did they depart from this design? - 2003 Nissan Maxima
By Serj - December 23 - 10:00 amIve put over 10k miles on this car since april, and there is only one thing this car is short on; rear headroom. The engine is velvet-smooth and OMG fast. Interior is of VERY high quality & styling on the outside gets respectful glaces everywhere. Niceities include titanium package rims and stainless kickpanels. Wonderful to drive on twisties. Fuel econo is decent at 80, but keep it under 70, and youll see MPG numbers around 28! Steering is heavy but responsive, and doesnt lighten until about 110mph. the BOSE stereo lacks tuning features that ive seen in much less expensive setups.

By projo - October 28 - 10:00 amgood engine, fine interior, excellent head lights, superior handling. No opinion on traction control until the snow falls. The odometer reads about 2% short,as did the 2000 model we just sold.

Want a fun ride, take it to the MAX - 2003 Nissan Maxima
By Mikie/mkaplan - September 14 - 10:00 amNo car is perfect! Its neither the perfect luxury sedan nor sports sedan. Its a car that has the best of both worlds. What a car! A beautiful Fit & Finish; Leather; Heated Seats, Mirrors, Steering Wheel; 6CD Bose Sound; E/C Rearview Mirror; Electric Seats; Sunroof; Key fob that lowers windows; etc But most of all, those lovely Xenon HID Headlights; seeing is believing. Powerful engine & a tranny that shifts smoothly. The car handles wonderfully & holds the curves great. The Maxima is just a wonderful car.

Very Happy Nissan Owner - 2003 Nissan Maxima
By Threeride - August 28 - 2:00 amSo far it has been pure pleasure. Plenty of power to spare with the smooth shifting automatic. I really like the comfort of the seats and the factory stereo with 7 speakers is more than adequate. The exterior lighting is fabulous -- night driving no longer an issue. Handling is good and will improve when I get new tires.

Why a Maxima? Great Performance! - 2003 Nissan Maxima
By Markish - July 17 - 2:00 amI have had four Nissan cars so far including the 03 SE that I got last September. The performance is excellent in terms of acceleration, braking, and handling. The exterior and interior design is very good throughout. Pricing is unbeatable. Recommended improvements are: (1) quieter interior; (2) better mileage; (3) Zenon highbeams and fog lights;(3) wider opening angle of the moonroof; (4) better positioning of the mirror adjuster (hard to reach); and (5) Electronic compass on the rearview mirror.

Everything I expected and more - 2003 Nissan Maxima
By BBuracze - April 17 - 10:00 amThis is my 2nd Maxima. My first, a 1996 GLE went 171,000, miles without a repair. I bought this 2003 a couple of weeks ago and it hasnt disappointed. The engine is quick and quiet. The cabin is roomy and well appointed. Quiet at highway speeds. The stereo is incredible! Handles well in fast corners. Brakes are smooth and even. Seats offer a solid feel and good support. The ride could be a little smoother but the Max is after all a sports sedan.
