This Year's Model Updates:

Since the Maxima was updated last year and is scheduled for a redesign in 2004, there are no major changes in store for the family sedan in 2003. There's a Titanium Edition package available for the SE and side airbags are now standard on GLEs.

Pros:
  • Impressively powerful V6 engine, sports car moves, availability of premium features, plenty of room for five adults.
Cons:
  • High price, rough ride quality with SE suspension.

Just purchased 2003 Nissan Maxima and so far am extremely pleased. Fun to drive, great to look at and Nissan reliability. Only had for about a month and fuel mileage seems a bit low but have not had it on the highway yet.

When ready to replace my 1994 Altima, I looked at the Altima, Maxima, and G35. The latest Altimas interior was unimpressive, the G35 was slightly smaller than I desired, but the Maxima was about perfect: a beautiful, fast, fun, roomy, well-made sports sedan. I chose the 6 speed manual SE trim w/ HLSD and all options ex. navigation and I have been very pleased. 2003 is the last of the Japanese made Maximas.

  • Still the Fastest, Best in its class! - 2003 Nissan Maxima

Since 92 after I got my very first car, a Maxima SE, I quickly fell in love with it. At that time, it was really the better car to get for my money. And ever since, I get myself a new Maxima every 4 years(so I can always drive the newest designed Max!). Never had any problems with them, except the ride is kinda rough but given that its sport-tuned! the Maximas can outhandle any car in its class, and thats why I went and bought the 2003, with the new 3.5L engine, this baby tears up the road!

This car is a rocket! Very fun to drive. After driving 2001 4cyl accord its no wonder. Had to get the 2003. Have you seen the size of the butt on the 2004?? Cloth seating is very comfortable. Even base Stereo is impressive. Didnt like Nissans option packages. You cant choose single options like traction control & side Air bags without the whole shooting match. Cannot beat this car for the price!

I wasnt sure if i shuld wait for the new Honda accord or get the maxima. But after the test drive....the choice was clear. Also the exterior of the maxima was soo much more appealing than the honda. IT was also more spacious. The ride can get rough sometimes in the SE.

This is my second Maxima, and Ill drive it for 300K. Rode first one 220K, then gave it to my son who has had no problems. Style is dated on the 2003, but i couldnt wait for the 04s, which are beautiful. Totally dependable, no warranty work required at all.

The family car with a kick in the a$$. With 255 HP this car has power to spare. This is an entry level luxury car. Bigger than the Altima, more power and cheaper due to less demand. This car is far superior to the Camry. This is the MANS car with a touch of class for the ladie.

  • 03 MAX TITANIUM EDITION - 2003 Nissan Maxima

Apr 03, Really wanted a used 2001 Max SE because the design looked much better. Wanted very low miles (0 mi), so decided on a new 2003 Max SE. To my shock salesman told us they did not have anymore of the 03 Max SE and Nissan was not going to be making anymore 03 Maximas. All they had were the ugly 2004s. Told him were only in Apr 2003 and no more 03 Maximas??? Why was the 2004 Maxima introduced so early in the year.He said the redesigned Altimas sales were by far exceeding Maximas sales and Nissan had to do something, so they did. All I could do is wait for used 2003 Titanium Ed. Max.
