  • Its ok but..... - 2004 Nissan Frontier

Ive had this pick-up for 9 months now, and it is ok. The ride is the biggest disappointment. The truck has a vibration when driving 40+, had at the dealership twice. They rebalanced the tires both times, but truck still has vibration. It also has numerous little rattles in the cab. On the positive side, you get a lot of options and a nice looking truck for a lot less than other models.

  • cheap truck - 2004 Nissan Frontier

Overall a cheap truck, both good and bad. Engine torque performance at start up and pulling grades was poor, especially with a load. Number 2 plug wire was against a metal bracket and shorting out intermitently for first 5000 miles, once repositioned, performance became marginal. Traction has been very poor when unloaded, until it resulted in a crash into a road bank at 15 mph and $5K of damage. Have now replaced the original 225/70 tires with 205/70 tires. So far that change has proven to be useful, wet and dry traction seems to have improved and the torque/gearing now is acceptable. The speedo/odometer, of course, is off now, as nissan offers no adjustment.

  • BAD GAS MILAGE!!!!!!! - 2004 Nissan Frontier
    By -

The truck is very nice looking but the gas milage is poor!!!! I drove 1160 miles on it and put almost 97 gals. of gas in it! 3300-3500 rpm at 75mph! and thats with the 5 speed and 3.3 ltr. not recommended for alot of traveling! But it will fit a family of 4 in it nicely and the interior layout is very nice! ride is a little harsh but what truck isnt!

  • Good Truck, Super Reliable - 2004 Nissan Frontier

Bought new in 2004 for 17700. 95K miles and no problems. Replaced OEM tires at 55K with same (BFGs) and battery died in 2008, replaced front brake pads around 60K. No other problems, just oil changes. 18-20MPG consistently. Wanted something I could keep for a few years with little to no issue and this has been great. Definitely a truck ride, especially on bumpy roads and interior starting to feel small, but overall its been a fantastic truck, never let me down.

  • Great for the price. - 2004 Nissan Frontier

This small truck was exactly what I needed for a new sales job, inexpensive, small, some carring ability and good gas milage. I have been back to the dealer twice to fix a noise in rear when braking, problem still exists. Fun and semi peppy to drive, sporty feel. It should be faster for a 2400cc, 16 valve engine, Gas mileage was 22, I thought it should be better for a 4 cylinder mini truck, K&N air filter and Flowmaster exaust improved it by 10%.

  • Highly Recomended Truck - 2004 Nissan Frontier

I bought this a year ago great truck so far taken it off road, commuted, towed, and snow. Not disappointed yet I once slid into a ditch in the snow just put in reverse and 4wd low and came right out. No body damage extremely tough truck can be used and abused high reliability. Only things I dont like I knew about going in was going to buy a Tacoma but Toyota wouldnt negoiate price and had a sticker of 27k configured same as the Frontier got this brand new for 19k sticker was 25k.

  • A fun little truck - 2004 Nissan Frontier

A neat small truck with great mileage and pretty good performance even with the small engine. It has been trouble free and is really fun to drive.

The Frontier longbed doesnt have a very tight turning radius, so I find myself backing up to get centered in parking spots; average gas mileage is around 16; Im not a large guy but even with the steering wheel all the way up it still catches my legs getting in and out. Although it has 4 doors, theres very little leg-room in back. My child- seat in the back is only inches from the front seat, so I have to get the kid out side-saddle, and he can kick me upside the head any time he wants. The inside was obviously not designed by or for anyone in North America.

  • Relatively Speaking - 2004 Nissan Frontier

This is truck for truck guys, unless you need it to haul stuff and go off road on a regular basis there are more car like options (like cars and those danged SUVS). It needs better brakes and a new engine not to mention better paint and more room in the back as well as better NVH insulation among other things. On the other hand its cheap, tough as nails, very utilitarian and looks good. Plus its loaded and will last forever, has very low maintenance and retains its residual value way better than Ford, Chevy, GMC or Dodge (not as much as the Taco though).

  • saved my life - 2004 Nissan Frontier
    By -

I bought this truck just in time I owned a little SUV and wanted something a little bigger in case of an accident. Well a few months after I purchased this truck I was rear ended on a freeway by a semi truck going they say 41-50 miles per hour I was at stop and this semi hit me and I hit 4 other cars. I walked out of it I do have a broken lower back and a really batter up body after the accident but it saved my life. The frame on the frontier is well built. My family and I really loved the truck. The only down fall about it is the gas mileage and could use a little more leg room in the back. The ride is like a truck and feels like youre driveing a big truck and has a nice feel to drive.
