Overview & Reviews
The SE now sports 17-inch five-spoke alloy wheels and tires.
- Wide variety of body configurations and trim levels, many safety and convenience features.
- No third door on King Cabs, cramped rear seats for Crew Cabs, poor mileage from supercharged models.

reliable - 2004 Nissan Frontier
By kidpatsy - May 28 - 10:00 amThis is the third Nissan 4 wheel drive I have owned. Put 120M with no problems on first one, $75M on second one and my kid is still driving with no problems.

Almost 8 years and over 75k miles - 2004 Nissan Frontier
By darmonx - March 19 - 10:41 amNever thought Id keep one vehicle for more than four years. Still driving it after almost eight years and still loving it. Just added k&n air filter and upgraded to a magnaflow exhaust which made a significant difference on the daily driving experience (wish Ive done that sooner). Getting 17mpg right now with mixed hwy/city driving. No major engine repairs and still runs pretty smooth. Power conveniences (windows, locks, side mirrors) are all still working. The original CD player system did jam and wont eject at year six so i replaced the whole thing.

Great Truck - 2004 Nissan Frontier
By Bruce - November 11 - 12:43 pmI have driven this little truck for 98000 miles with no problems. One set of tires and windshield wipers. Nothing else. Great in the sand at the beach. Has some issues puling and seems to be a little gutless on hills or with a big load and gets about 19 miles to the gallon. Not great but this little truck is as dependable as they get. I even push a little snow in the winter.

its a truck! - 2004 Nissan Frontier
By a truck guy - August 26 - 7:40 pmThe 2004 Nissan Frontier may not be a handsome truck but it does the job and at the right price. I would have preferred it to have a larger engine and more leg room in the rear, however I knew what I was buying so if I want to gripe about something it should be my thin wallet. This trucks best feature is its functional long bed.

Great, Fun, Compact truck. - 2004 Nissan Frontier
By bqd - July 30 - 2:20 amI have the basic 4-cylinder king cab XE. Its fun to drive and the creature comforts are pretty decent. Although the interior design and material have a cheap plastic feel to them, espcecially the knobs for the AC/Heater. Great truck for the price. The four cyclinder version is a little weak and takes awhile to get to highway speeds.

Not bad for the price. - 2004 Nissan Frontier
By KofPguy - April 22 - 9:46 pmOverall its a decent truck but have been questioning its durability from day one. The drivetrain is clunky and loose and when in 2WD the gearbox has an annoying rattle which the dealer says is "normal for these trucks." The lack of true power would make one expect better gas mileage but both power and gas milegae suck. It does look great and I have enjoyed taking it off-road. And it came at a great price. However, my final thought on this truck after owning it a few months is, "You get what you pay for."

not so good - 2004 Nissan Frontier
By Brian - April 8 - 2:56 pmIf you like good looks, reasonably good fit and finish and a truck that starts every morning, then buy this truck. If you crave power and you dont like to deal with things like fixing brakes at 8,000 miles or replacing a good number of suspension components at 24,000 miles when youve never even taken it off road or outside the city limits of Saint Louis, then DO NOT buy this truck. The gas mileage is HIDEOUS considering the type of vehicle. Its not a full size truck yet gets the mpg of my 2001 F150 4x4 crewcab Lariat. Window sticker says 16/20. Right...more like 13/16. Also, the suspension creaks and the cruise wont hold on the slightest incline. Just too many annoying problems.

Third world country vehicle - 2004 Nissan Frontier
By deneng - February 16 - 12:30 amWhen i saw this vehicle in the philippines i said to myself if this ever comes to the states i gotta get me one. When it came i said ok i paid the 14500 asking price and drove it off the lot. Has 89000 and the timing belt replaced. Gas milage 10 to 25 mpg. 10 miles with 4500# boat and 25 when driving like a green freak. Still with original clutch. Its hard to decide if this or my integra are better vehicles. Both are far better then expected.
