This Year's Model Updates:

The Altima's winning formula continues with few changes. Smoke is a new exterior color choice, and four-cylinder models meet stricter federal emissions standards. Models with California emissions are now classified as Partial Zero Emissions Vehicles (PZEV).

Pros:
  • Sports car power in a midsize sedan body, excellent handling, roomy and comfortable interior, high level of features, distinct styling.
Cons:
  • Low-grade interior materials, considerable road noise, overboosted steering, no stability control.

  • I love my new purchase! - 2004 Nissan Altima

I purchased this car last week! So far I love everything about it and love driving it!! Car looks like I paid alot more for it than what I did. I bought the convenience package w/ mine and love the extras I got! If you are going to get this car, pay a little more for the foglights, alloy tires, & sunroof. Youll enjoy the extras on the convenience package

After 150,000 miles, this car still runs and rides like new. The 2.5 L, 4 sp automatic has plenty of pep and delivers an average of 27 mpg for this daily commuter. The ride is smooth and handling is above average. There is plenty of head and leg room front and back, the seats are comfortable, and the Bose sound system is fantastic. Maintenance has been minimal, replacing the front right wheel bearing at 90,000 (extended warranty work) and the crankshaft position sensor at 102,000 ($120 parts and labor). I replaced the upper motor mount and idler pulley at 135K in 1 hour for less than $100. The road noise is the only thing that I can say bad about this car. This car has given us great service.

As soon as Nissan redesigned the Altima, I knew I had to have one. I love the interior space. Low grade parts on the interior are a little frustrating. I DO plan to trade up for a new 2005 model and I will probably never own another brand of car!

I bought this car for its looks, dependability, and the V6. I have taken several long trips in my new Altima and find the drive very comfortable and enjoyable. When passing slower vehicles on the highway, this car can move! There is plenty of leg room in both the front and back seats. The trunk is also very spacious.

This is my 3rd Nissan product. I am thrilled with the roomier interior (5 10" and very comfortable). We bought the 4 cylinder because it was plenty of power for our needs. The dealership was very helpful...dont understand why THEY dont offer a better service package for new car buyers.(Brenner Nissan, Camp Hill, PA) This car is "Smokin".

I have driven SUVs in the past 15 years and I did not think I would like a car but this car has the get up and go that I like and it is great to drive. I dont know if I will go back to an SUV. Rahalchevybuick.com is where I bought mine in Marianna,Fl and they are great people. I got black interior is the only complaint that I have so far. 3.5 SE Altima with Sports pkg. Black interior shows every little speck or lint.

  • DO NOT BUY!! - 2004 Nissan Altima

I have nothing but trouble since buying this car. I am only getting about 18 miles to the gallon. I drive only back and forth to school (15 min from home) and I go through $80.00 a week in gas. Nobody can figure out what is wrong with it. My alignment goes out a week after getting it fixed, it makes weird noises going over bumps. When I shut off my car after drving it smells like sulfur. The steering wheel shakes on a regular basis. This is a car that is just going to nickle and dime you to death. DO NOT BUY! It is a waste of moneyyy!!

  • Satisfied with this choice - 2004 Nissan Altima

It rides and drives very well and the interior is laid out well with plenty of smaller storage compartments to put things. The seats are comfortable enough for longer trips. My only complaint is some of the interior plastic somewhere in the dash near the passenger side door will rattle slightly going over rough roads and also the roof under the cloth lining will also. Its one of those things that is so slight that if you took it back to the dealer they wouldnt be able to find the problem to fix it. Nissan just needs to make the fittings tighter during assembly.

I have been thinking about buying an Altima. I have own Honda Accords for the last 12 years. I should have bought the Altima sooner than I did. Its a great car which packs a great deal of power under the hood from just the standard 4 cylinder. I think its a great buy.
