This Year's Model Updates:

The all-new third-generation 2002 Altima represents a total revision and rethinking of Nissan's midsize sedan -- it brings a level of design and performance that currently does not exist in its class. With a choice of a 240-horsepower, 3.5-liter V6 or 175-horsepower, 2.5-liter four-cylinder and an all-new four-wheel independent suspension, the Altima offers spirit with state-of-the-art technology. An aggressive new exterior design with increases in all major dimensions and a driver-oriented interior with myriad convenience and luxury features set the Altima apart in the highly competitive sedan marketplace.

Pros:
  • Sports car power in a midsize sedan body, high level of features, distinct new shape.
Cons:
  • All-new design could mean first-year teething problems and dealer mark-up.

What a great vehicle to drive! I have driven just about every sedan in its class and this car drives and handles the best. Highway mileage for this beefy V6 is unheard of! Magnussen Auburn Nissan willing to deal when other dealer wont sell below MSRP.

We have owned our car for only one week and my husband and I totally LOOOOOVE this car. This is the first car we have owned that we actually fight over driving. We took it on our first long- distance trip in the pouring rain and it handled beautifully. We get head turns wherever we go.

Great car!. If you dont want all the bells and whistles you can get it for well under $20K. The stick shifts well. The 2.5L has plenty of power. Ive had mine about 8 months now and still love it. When I went away for a week for vacation and came back my heart was pounding from anticipation of driving this car! Getting 25-29 mpg depending on conditions. A/C and heat are almost instantaneous. Seats are very comfortable. Steering is solid and it holds the road very well. Ive gotten so many complements on this car! If youre looking for a good solid car that moves, is fun to drive, practical, and wont break the bank, this is it!

After years of being the whipping boy of other Japanese car companies, Nissan hits a home run with the new Altima. This car is both fun to drive, economical and a lot of ride for the money. I would highly recommend you take one for a test drive and experience the New Nissan for yourself.

This car is great. No mechanical issues over the three years I have owned the car. I bought it used with 31K miles and have put over 60K miles. Oil change and brakes and tires over the three years. Excellent design inside and out. Very fast with great pick up from dead stop. Takes corners like its on rails. Going to buy a 2007 Altima in a couple of days.

  • Great Car, Great Price - 2002 Nissan Altima

I am extremely happy that I chose an Altima 2.5S. This car is step above the usual family sedan. It feels more like a sports sedan (ie: BMW 5 series, Audi A6). While other reveiws seem to focus on the interior plastics etc. Id take performance iver plastic any day. Also the front seat comfortability and adaption to each driver is better than any other car in its class. The 4 cylinder has incredible pep. and the suspension maintains a balanced ride. Put that with the incredible price that this car is going for you cant beat it. The Altima 2.5S is winner.
