Overview & Reviews
All Altimas receives exterior styling enhancements, including new smoked headlamps and taillights, new wheel designs and a restyled front fascia and grille, along with a much needed interior redesign. The 3.5-liter V6 gets five more horsepower and three more lb-ft of torque, for a total of 250 and 249, respectively, and is now available with a five-speed automatic transmission. A new performance-oriented SE-R model joins the lineup along with a leather-lined 3.5 SL model. A newly optional DVD-based navigation system and two new exterior colors round out the changes.
- Sports car power in a midsize sedan body, excellent handling, roomy and comfortable interior, high level of features, distinctive styling.
- Considerable road noise, overboosted steering, no stability control, ABS still an extra-cost option.

Black 2005 Nissan 2.5S4drSedanAutomatic - 2005 Nissan Altima
By Lisa - September 23 - 7:16 amQuality was number 1 to us, so the first place we shopped was Toyota but I was very unimpressed with the looks of the 2005s, that was really important to us subsequently we tryed Honda but was equally unimpressed with appearance of their 2005 model. We ended up at a Nissan dealership and saw the 2005 Altima WoW! was my first thought. It has everything we were looking for with a fabulous $ to boot. We bought one but it is not the quiet smooth ride that I expect. We therefore have been discussing other options and see ourselves in the near future test driving the Chrysler 300 or the new mustang for smoothness and quiet.

I Love This Car! - 2005 Nissan Altima
By papillion - September 4 - 10:00 amI went to the dealership looking for a new car. I thought I would get one that was a year or two old, maybe a Sentra. I thought what the heck, lets go ahead the test drive the new Altima, and I really liked it. There is a ton of room, it looks cool, and it is fun to drive. I would recommend the Altima to anyone looking to buy a new car!

Follow-up After 2 Years: Still Good - 2005 Nissan Altima
By David K - August 22 - 5:16 pmIt has been two years since I bought my used Altima, and Im not loving it any less. Mileage is now at 73K and the car is asking for new brakes and shocks soon. Also, strangely, a motor mount bushing cracked. A few annoyances: Turning radius is too large, brake interlock in auto trans. clicks loudly when coming to a stop, and sometimes hard 1-2 downshifts. Now that I have the bad out of the way, none of the above prevents me from endorsing this car. Car is still comfy, stylish and sporting. Beyond one trim piece cracking, materials quality is satisfactory.

Good long distance driving car - 2005 Nissan Altima
By Gatorgirl05 - June 25 - 12:23 pmIve had my Altima for almost two years. Most of the miles on my car are interstate driving. It drives very well. The backseat is very comfortable. My dad is 64" and he was shocked that he could sit in the back comfortably. Overall I have been really pleased with the car.

Owned Acura, BMW, and Honda - 2005 Nissan Altima
By carter - June 15 - 2:56 amOnly one complaint about this car. Turn radius of a Mac Truck. Thats it! Car for the money was the best decision. A family member has a 2007 and I like my cabin better but they do have a cup holder in the sideskirt pocket.
