  • You may want to look elsewhere - 2008 Nissan Altima

Overall, the new 2008 Altima is much larger, more stylish and much "different" car. The Altimas CVT is something to get very used to; not hearing the shifts or feeling when the car is shifting makes the car feel like its constantly whining. However having that constant thrust of flowing power is also a positive. Personally, Nissan never lived up to the expectation of Toyota or Honda, but this Nissan (especially the coupe) may have Honda buyers look at Nissan. However, take one ride in a new 2008 Honda Accord, and you wont ever look back at Nissan.

This car was recommended by my mechanic, he told me if I were to buy a Japan car, I should consider the Altima bcause it has a chain drive belt. It will outlast the others. I bought the Altima 2.5s for my wife, But I enjoy the ride as much as she does! The 175 ponies under the hood feels like a V6. The handling is like a small Caddy. And the steering is real tight and responsive. I only have 285 miles on it but at 10 MPH I shift into manual on the CVT to 5th or 6th gear and the revs go way down. I can get 37+ MPG by doing this. Im sure after break-in it will only get better. What a lot of car for the money. Great gas mileage, great car.

  • outstanding car - 2008 Nissan Altima

I traded my 350z convertible for the Altima SL in november 07 because i needed more space.Never regretted the trade. I love the altima. Getting the L package was worth the money. None of my friends can believe the price. From the gas milage, 28 in the city to 35 on the freeway, to the comfort and space, this car is a bargain. The style is sporty, yet elegant. the trunk is spacious and so is the backseat. My son is 62" and has no problem in the backseat. Power is more than sufficient and the CVT works great. i took it on a 1500 mile roundtrip to San Antonio and never was uncomfortable. And i am 63". All things considered, my next car will be an Altima again when the time comes.

  • What a car! - 2008 Nissan Altima

I traded my 99 A6 for this Altima and have ZERO regrets. Handling is similar. The Altima with the 2.5 4-banger eats the Audi for lunch. Amazing power for a 4 cyl. The suspension is just stiff enough to feel sporty, yet does not sacrifice comfort. Ive been actively trying to find something to find fault with, but have no complaints. Excellent value for the price. The fit and finish are top notch. Even the stock sound system was good enough that I didnt go for the Bose.

  • Love My Car - 2008 Nissan Altima

Had my mid-life crisis a bit early and opted to trade-in my Saturn VUE for something more sporty. I saw a few of the Altima Coupes on the road and decided I needed to drive one. 53,000 miles later, its still a great car to drive. I wanted all black, V6, fully loaded and after waiting patiently a few days, my dealer was able to get one. The look of the vehicle is great. Sometimes I think there is a bit too much hesitation when I go from reverse to drive. However, overall, it is just a great car with great acceleration and handling and very good gas mileage. While not the ideal family vehicle, I can fit all 3 kiddos in the backseat.

  • 40K Miles - No Problems - 2008 Nissan Altima

Just thought I would post a review letting potential buyers of used 2008 Altima Coupes, know, that after 40,000 miles the car has had no problems for me. I bought the 3.5 SE with CVT transmission, on 6-7-2007 fully loaded. The car has had every maintenance interval done. (oil changed every 3K miles, and whatever else a certified Nissan mechanic, said needed to be done) The only problem I had was a bad valve stem on the tire, NOT caused by driving behavior, stems are steel. Otherwise the car has seemed to run very well. It is very quiet while idling, inside still looks brand new, overall everything has held up well with no major problems in the first 40K mile

  • Very happy with the Altima - 2008 Nissan Altima

The 4 cyl is surprisingly responsive and the CVT makes it so you dont even feel the car shift. Lots of interior room. We traded in an 02 Passat which had lots of interior space, but the Altima actually has more. We have two small children and everyone fits in the car very comfortably. Extremely comfortable leather seats. Controls are easily accessible and lots of compartments for your stuff. The dash layout is very nice as well.

  • The Best car ever! - 2008 Nissan Altima

I absolutely love my Nissan Altima sedan. It is absolutely the most fun thing I have ever driven. It is also very spacious, and very quiet! The Interior is absolutely beautiful as well as the exterior. The keyless entry and push button start is so convenient, I never take my keys out of my purse.

  • disappointing - 2008 Nissan Altima

Had the car for 1yr 5 months and have had ongoing issues with my drivers side seat sliding from side to side. Nissan has been a pain to deal with and even after I recently filed for lemon law they have yet to be in touch and have exceeded the 30 day time frame. Aside from seat moving side to side I have moisture in my right rear tail-light, unreliable brake pressure(they can be VERY touchy depending on which way the wind blows), blown speaker, rattles, and a hesitation when accelerating. Not sure how it has won "Highest Ranked in Initial Quality" from J.D. Power. Also has very uncomfortable seats, and poor handling. On the bright side good MPG, peppy and quiet.

  • My 1st Nissan - 2008 Nissan Altima

After driving Toyotas for the last 20 years I was a bit apprehensive about buying a car that didnt say Toyota on it. But after driving my new 2008 Nissan Altima Coupe 2.5S I am totally impressed. It handles great, has tons of power, looks beautiful and gets an avg of over 28 mpg. Not bad considering I have been driving rather heavy footed. The seats take a little getting use to and the plastic on the inside of the car has an inexpensive feel to it. Not cheap but not too good either. The CVT is amazing. I think it and the engine are a great match. Nice job Nissan.
