This Year's Model Updates:

All Altimas receives exterior styling enhancements, including new smoked headlamps and taillights, new wheel designs and a restyled front fascia and grille, along with a much needed interior redesign. The 3.5-liter V6 gets five more horsepower and three more lb-ft of torque, for a total of 250 and 249, respectively, and is now available with a five-speed automatic transmission. A new performance-oriented SE-R model joins the lineup along with a leather-lined 3.5 SL model. A newly optional DVD-based navigation system and two new exterior colors round out the changes.

Pros:
  • Sports car power in a midsize sedan body, excellent handling, roomy and comfortable interior, high level of features, distinctive styling.
Cons:
  • Considerable road noise, overboosted steering, no stability control, ABS still an extra-cost option.

  • LOVING IT MORE AND MORE EVERYDAY! - 2005 Nissan Altima

WHEN I WAS 16 HAD A 2001 ALTIMA SE, GREAT CAR!!! I WANTED A V6 SO IN JAN. 2004 AFTER I TURNED 18 I BOUGHT A 2003 MAXIMA SE. W/TITANIUM ED. PKGE AND LTHR INT. 1 MONTH LATER AND WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE THAT NISSAN WAS GOING TO DO THIS...THE REDESIGNED 2005 ALTIMA 3.5SE IS LAUNCHED. I COULD NOT TRADE IN MY MAXIMA AFTER HAVING IT FOR ONLY 1 MONTH SO AFTER WAITING FOR OVER 8 MONTHS, LAST WEEK, I WENT AND TRADED IN BOTH MY 2001 ALTIMA AND 2003 MAXIMA FOR A 2005 NISSAN ALTIMA 3.5SE. I DID NOT NEED A CO-SIGNER!!! I GOT THE SATIN WHITE WITH THE CHARCOAL LEATHER... EVERTHING EXCEPT NAVIGATION SYSTEM. MY MAXIMA WAS AUTOMATIC SO I DECIDED TO TRY A 5-SPEED MANUAL.

  • The Best Car I Have Ever Owned!!! - 2005 Nissan Altima

Originally looked at the 2.5 Altima but needed more "pick-up" with acceleration. The salesman suggested the 3.5. I drove it and loved it! There was no looking back at the 2.5...I love the look of the car, the comfort AND room inside; the reliability cannot be more satisfying. I felt for the price that I was paying, I was getting a lot of car and more. My friends and family are jealous. They all want one now.

After owning a 1994 and 1998 Nissan Altima I put the new design 2002 head and shoulders above all competitors. My Altima SL 2.5 is now 3 yrs old and still awesome. Lthr, full power, 6 CD Bose sound, auto, 16" rims, etc. For looks, ride and performance it cant be beat in its class. Oh by the way it uses regular and has plenty of gettee up.

I have my Nissan Altima for almost 4 years now. A very good V6 engine that gives you a nice feeling driving it. It stays good on the road and reacts and can be handled well in various weather conditions. Didnt have any problems with it.The only one was changing the battery in the first 8 months. A good and robust car that gives you what you ask for!

As a former owner of 2 other Nissan cars [Sentras],I needed more room. When learning of the NEW interior design of the Altima and already loving its exterior design, after taking a test drive I knew that that was the CAR for me. I took the car on its first ride with me to the White Mountains of New Hamshire with some Very steep grades. That 175 hp engine operated superbly especially when more torque was needed. It drives smoothly and handled the sharp turns safely and level troughout the turns at 40 mp.When I started I had 700 miles on the speedoeter. at 1400 miles reading I was
