Overview & Reviews
The all-new third-generation 2002 Altima represents a total revision and rethinking of Nissan's midsize sedan -- it brings a level of design and performance that currently does not exist in its class. With a choice of a 240-horsepower, 3.5-liter V6 or 175-horsepower, 2.5-liter four-cylinder and an all-new four-wheel independent suspension, the Altima offers spirit with state-of-the-art technology. An aggressive new exterior design with increases in all major dimensions and a driver-oriented interior with myriad convenience and luxury features set the Altima apart in the highly competitive sedan marketplace.
- Sports car power in a midsize sedan body, high level of features, distinct new shape.
- All-new design could mean first-year teething problems and dealer mark-up.

Love at first sight - 2002 Nissan Altima
By J&C - September 24 - 10:53 pmI went out for a 2.5 SL, but when I saw the duel exhaust and the spoiler on the 3.5 SE I had to have it. It didn`t have leather so I had them install the Nissan after market leather and boy am I glad I did, it`s so much nicer than the factory leather. I also had a gold package done(the car is gold) and it is just georgous. I can`t say enough about the power of the 3.5, every time I step down on it I am truly amazed. I got it early so I paid a little more but NO regrets

I tested them all ... this is the one! - 2002 Nissan Altima
By B. Mullins - September 3 - 2:00 amIdeally, I was looking for a car that was fun to drive, 6 cylinders, comfortable, with a higher level of features (luxury) than I had previously. I drove many cars: camry, accord, millenia, some SUVs. So I went and drove the Altima. This car is fun, responsive, comfortable, and while not as quiet as a camry, it is certainly much quieter then my other cars and I consider it VERY acceptable at highway speeds. Altima has won the North American Automobile of the Year. It is a well deserved award for a sports sedan in the mid $20,000s. Test drive this car after the others and you should feel the differences.

What a ride!!! - 2002 Nissan Altima
By Mastmi - August 28 - 10:00 amI have only had this vehicle for 3 months now but.....Wow! This car is a keeper. The ride is extremely smooth and the style (interior and exterior) are outstanding. I have had a ton compliments on the luxury look of the car often comparing it too much more expensive cars such as the Passat and Lexus. There is room galore. This car is great bang for the buck...tons of value. Plus there is also the HID headlight option, truly outstanding lighting. I never would have thought that headlights could be so great.

2002 Altima Review - 2002 Nissan Altima
By Aaron Batson - July 16 - 10:00 amThe four cylinder model offers suprising power when coupled with the five speed transmission. The large windows offer great visability and ease of driving. Rear passenger accomodations are excellent and capable of supporting three adults comfortably. Fit and finish fpr this car are exemplary. Ergonomically the car is near perfect with a telescopic and tilt steering collumn. The stock audio selection is adequate and crisp. Over the road noise is minimal.
