Like Car But Has An Incurable Bug - 2008 Nissan Altima
By Don - September 20 - 1:00 amI Generally like the car especially the gas mileage. Plenty of interior room, and trunk space. The only negative seems to be paring of the CVT transmission with a 4-cyl. engine. When starting uphill from a stop, particularly w/the A/C on, it feels like the engine is missing or that it is having difficulty shifting gears. I think it is the latter. Ive taken it to the dealership 3 times, and they cannot find anything wrong and suggested I use a higher octane gas. That did not work (and defeats the purpose of buying a 4-cyl.). So, I use the shift control in the "manual" mode when going up a hill from a stop and do not experience the "missing" feeling.

2 years old & not happy - 2008 Nissan Altima
By moorem1 - September 15 - 2:40 amHad owned a Maxima previously, thats why went back to Nissan. Not as pleased this time. Before 2 yrs old battery went dead. Replacement on stock battery was 50%. After market battery would have been 100%. Since new battery the brake light (indicating emergency brake is on) comes on randomly. Also the slip light & VDC light come on randomly. Seems to be sluggish at times.

Beats the competitors hands down! - 2008 Nissan Altima
By 2w05thletes - August 23 - 1:53 amI researched the mid-size sedan market for months. The Accord, Camry, Fusion, Mazda 6, and Sonata. The Altima is a cut above the rest. The exterior design is beautiful, and the interior is sharp and crisp. I have 2 little boys both in car seats and they fit perfectly in the back seat without feeling cramped. Fuel economy is as advertised if not a tad better. Im averaging 31MPG, mostly HWY but some city. I LOVE the CVT. Nissan did an incredible job with it. Its smooth and the manual option is a fun bonus when I feel like it. The ride is smooth and surprisingly quiet. Trunk is HUGE, only complaint there being the hinges. Plenty of cupholders including an adjustable one. 5 Stars!

I LOVE my COUPE!!! - 2008 Nissan Altima
By JessInFL - August 21 - 7:53 amI bought my Azure Blue premium package coupe on Friday and I am in love with this car. I went from a V6 down to the 4 cylinder but this car has plenty of power. The ride is so smooth. I havent seen one in my area yet but I know a few have been sold. I was actually looking at my car at the same time as 2 other people. There are so few on the lots you can get into a war trying to get yours. At this point I love everything about this car. The features in the premium package are great. The dual air conditioners work well since I am always cold when my husband is burning up. The stereo (Bose) has great sound quality. The seats are very comfortable.

windshield wiper malfunction! - 2008 Nissan Altima
By concerned owner - August 11 - 7:30 amI have a 08 Nissan altima coupe - V6. My windshield wipers are giving me major problems. They will work and then all of a sudden will stop working. This is a safety concern since they will randomly stop working for about 3-4 minutes and then turn on again. It happened again just this past saturday when it was raining out and I was on the highway. They stopped working a total of 3 times in just a 40 minute drive. I could not see a thing and had to pull over. This has been an ongoing issue pretty much since I purchased the vehicle but been even more problematic these past months.

Review - 2008 Nissan Altima
By RS - August 8 - 4:26 amI really enjoy driving this car. Acceleration is surprisingly good with the smaller 4 cyl engine with excellent gas mileage. My only complaint is the limited choice of interior colors to match up with the available exterior colors. I chose the Winter Frost exterior color but was stuck with a black charcoal interior as the standard offering. I live in Texas and believe me the black charcoal interior can feel like an oven if left out in the sun too long.

So Many Problems - 2008 Nissan Altima
By stormchaser32 - July 31 - 12:38 pmWhen we first purchased the car, we had no issues until the 15K mark and car would not start. Brake sensor issue. Another 15K, stopped to get gas in Alabama, car would not start. Brake sensor again. Trip to Florida and a loud whining noise, Transmission replaced 60K. After getting the maintenance, they stated that it will be fine. Whining brakes are annoying and the leather on the console is torn...not covered by warranty. Also, center console is very loose. Now the radio will not power on. Drive about 15 miles and then press the push start w/o foot on brake, radio comes back on. Problems and will not own another Nissan

Fun to Drive - 2008 Nissan Altima
By Dawn - July 30 - 2:13 amThis is a fun car to drive. It gets great gas mileage. I love the 20 gallon gas tank (that was a seller for me!). You can go forever on a tank of gas. I miss the room of an SUV (which I drove for years) but I was tired of the gas prices and poor gas mileage of the larger vehicle.

Ready to trade. - 2008 Nissan Altima
By KP - July 21 - 2:00 amBought brand new in June of 2008. I have 35,000 miles within 2 ½ years. Gets great gas mileage, very sporty and I really do like the push button start. But I have had problems that in my mind outweigh the good things. Had to have the radio replaced. That took 4 trips to the dealer before Nissan would finally replace it. Had the trunk latch replaced. Now Im dealing with the radio display again and they wont do anything and my warranty is up in 999 miles. Windows roll down if you hold the unlock button on the key. I didnt know that till it happened the other night with the key in my pocket. Then the lights were on and I couldnt get them shut off. So now I have to take it back in.
