This Year's Model Updates:

All Altimas receives exterior styling enhancements, including new smoked headlamps and taillights, new wheel designs and a restyled front fascia and grille, along with a much needed interior redesign. The 3.5-liter V6 gets five more horsepower and three more lb-ft of torque, for a total of 250 and 249, respectively, and is now available with a five-speed automatic transmission. A new performance-oriented SE-R model joins the lineup along with a leather-lined 3.5 SL model. A newly optional DVD-based navigation system and two new exterior colors round out the changes.

Pros:
  • Sports car power in a midsize sedan body, excellent handling, roomy and comfortable interior, high level of features, distinctive styling.
Cons:
  • Considerable road noise, overboosted steering, no stability control, ABS still an extra-cost option.

  • If I could marry my Altima, I WOULD!!! - 2005 Nissan Altima

The moment I saw it, it was Love at first sight.eSleek sassy, and a lot of class. Then there was the test drive, and after that,I knew that she was the one for me. Great pick up when passing or getting on the freeway. My Altima is the 2.5s with convenience package and 5speed manual transmission, which really makes it drive like an expensive sports car. It has a beautiful paint finish. In a gorgeous color,Sonoma Sunset. A beautiful red that looks different at different times of the day.The engine is so quiet, that sometimes I am not sure that it is running, now thats quiet.I plan to keep the car for a long time, or a least until one thats prettier comes along.

I was never a family sedan driver until this model of Altima came out. I never noticed the Altima under its prior body style (like a little compact car). The power, styling, and feel of this car is great and makes for a fun driving experience and makes you feel good to be seen in it.

  • Love this Altima - 2005 Nissan Altima

Ive had my 2.5S for 5+ months now, and am extremely pleased with it. Ive taken it to Syracuse NY and Cape Cod, MA (I live in northern NJ), and once got 34 mpg! For a car this size, the 2.5L four cylinder engine is very peppy. The ride is smooth, and, so far, the interior is free of squeaks on bumps. The trunk is huge. Those who have sat in the back seat compliment me on the ample legroom they have. All in all, I am very, very happy with this Nissan.

Weve had no visits to the dealership for warranty/adjustments on the car. We notice some drivers side wind noise on windy days (highway driving). Also, weve have some larger than expected rock chips on the hood/front of the car. Not sure whether it is the paint durability or just bad luck. Highway mileage in summer is right at 30 mpg. Combined mileage runs 22/23.5 mpg.

This is an awesome car. It looks amazing, has LOTS of power and gets great mileage. Ive always been a Nissan fan and imo an excellent alternative to the Camry and Accord.

Although the name on the back says Altima, this car ranks up there with the Acura TL, BMW 325, Infiniti G35 and the Maxima and for thousands less! I should know becuase I drove each of those cars before driving the Altima. I couldnt justify spending thousands more for less car. Unbelievable power from the 3.5 V6 and exterior styling is outstanding. You will definitly pay the price at the gas pump when deploying all that power. When driven aggressivley this car sucks the gas. I bought the 3.5 with navigation for $1,500 under invoice. I couldnt pass it up. Had some concerns initially about this being a "chick" car, but those concerns went away the min

I just upgraded to a Nissan Maxima. I loved my Altima, but it was time to upsize in quality.

  • Fun and Sassy - 2005 Nissan Altima

Although I have not had this vehicle a long time I find it fun and exciting to drive. The performance of the v6 is wonderful. The fit and finish is great. I am a little disappointed with the noise coming into the cabin area from the rear wheels. They could do a better job insulating this area. This is my first Nissan and so far so good.

  • Im gonna miss my Altima - 2005 Nissan Altima

By far, the most comfortable car I have ever owned, sturdy, large enough for family, yet great fuel economy at the same time. Car totaled this week when dump truck hit me going 60 mph, the car took one heck of a beating but I came out alive. I am so going to miss this car, I will be back in the market for another Altima.
