This Year's Model Updates:

All Altimas receives exterior styling enhancements, including new smoked headlamps and taillights, new wheel designs and a restyled front fascia and grille, along with a much needed interior redesign. The 3.5-liter V6 gets five more horsepower and three more lb-ft of torque, for a total of 250 and 249, respectively, and is now available with a five-speed automatic transmission. A new performance-oriented SE-R model joins the lineup along with a leather-lined 3.5 SL model. A newly optional DVD-based navigation system and two new exterior colors round out the changes.

Pros:
  • Sports car power in a midsize sedan body, excellent handling, roomy and comfortable interior, high level of features, distinctive styling.
Cons:
  • Considerable road noise, overboosted steering, no stability control, ABS still an extra-cost option.

I just bought a 2005 Nissan Altima about two weeks ago and I cant say enough about the car. I absolutely love it. It is so much fun to drive, is great on gas, goes great in the snow, and its a very classy looking car. I think the price is extremely reasonable, for the quality of product you get with this car. I would highly recommend this car to anyone.

i have driven most of the cars available in the market, but altima is the best. think about this that altima has most powerfull engine in its I4 class(without supercharge or turbo). if you know about any other car which has more than 175 HP without supercharger or turbo let me know.

  • 2005 Nissan Altima is outstanding! - 2005 Nissan Altima

My wife and I purchased a 2005 Nissan Altima 2.5SL in August 2004. It simply is an outstanding car! The power from the 2.5 is surprising while the amenities of the SL package give us the luxury feel and handling of sedans that cost almost twice as much. It averages almost 25 MPG in city driving while getting 30 MPG on the highway. The editors of Edmunds bemoan the fact that antilock brakes are still not standard but I applaud Nissan for leaving them optional as I am one of the doubters of the safety of antilock brakes. I drive in upstate NY and I have had many vehicles with and without antilocks and I am NOT convinced you stop any faster with them. Good job, NISSAN!

I had my mind set on a altima, a camry or an accord and went for the altima and boy am i glad. i have black on black and people comment on this car whenever i stop somewhere. i love that it is roomy in the inside and that no one is cramped. the car is just cool and well worth $24,000.

Im on week 3 of my black, Altima 3.5, 5 speed manual and love it so far. The radio reception is weaker than what I would have expected but Im enjoying the 6CD changer. The handling is good and the engine performance is superb. Only mechanical problem is a loose cover on the passenger side view mirror.

  • Entry level sedan? - 2005 Nissan Altima

This car has overwhelming power with its 3.5liter V6 which will get you from point a to b faster than the desired Nissan Maxima for a cheaper price. and exterior styling.I recommend upgrading to the premium sound system which is definately worth the price. Standard options such as cruise control, remoteless key entry, cd player, and ac set this entry level sedan apart from the rest.

Even though I have only owned my Altima for over a little more than a month I am delighted to get behind the wheel. I think it looks good and I look good in it. It handles well and gets good gas milage as well. So far the dealer has lived up to all of my expectations.

  • What a nice surprise - 2005 Nissan Altima

This is most beautiful and amazing car I have ever owned in that it didnt cost a mint. Forget a Lexus or Infiniti. This is a luxury car in almost every since of the word. Its large enough for my 66" and 280lb frame. I could use a little more room, but what car wouldnt I need more room. I have the Satin White, and boy does it get noticed. The tan leather interior looks like your average $40,000 plus luxury car. It flies for a four banger. It only requires 87 octane gasoline. Its sister V6 model requires 89 or higher. That was a major selling point in and of itself. Just pure joy to drive. Go out and get one.
