This Year's Model Updates:

All Altimas receives exterior styling enhancements, including new smoked headlamps and taillights, new wheel designs and a restyled front fascia and grille, along with a much needed interior redesign. The 3.5-liter V6 gets five more horsepower and three more lb-ft of torque, for a total of 250 and 249, respectively, and is now available with a five-speed automatic transmission. A new performance-oriented SE-R model joins the lineup along with a leather-lined 3.5 SL model. A newly optional DVD-based navigation system and two new exterior colors round out the changes.

Pros:
  • Sports car power in a midsize sedan body, excellent handling, roomy and comfortable interior, high level of features, distinctive styling.
Cons:
  • Considerable road noise, overboosted steering, no stability control, ABS still an extra-cost option.

Excellent, well built, and fun to drive car. Many standard features, and with the SL package, you get almost everything under the sun. Bose stereo w/6 disc changer is great. Little added features here and there also make the car an excellent pick. Style of the car and interior are unbeatable.

I had previously driven an Acura 3.5 and was looking at the Maxima and other cars. By chance I drove the Altima and after the first drive was hooked. The Majestic Blue is cool and the car looks great. The drive is nice and the power is incredible for a 4 cylinder. It has as much as the Acura I had. The interior is roomy and comfortable. Best of all is the PRICE! Why spend $10 - $15K more. This car has it all.

The only major thing Id change would be that I would have gotten the 6-speed manual rather than the 5-speed automatic, but that wasnt my choice. Of course, there are some minor annoyances, but overall its a fantastically fun, yet practical, sedan to own.

The Nissan Altima is one of the best cars for 2005 even though it is a foreign made automobile. They have almost gotten it right. The only thing that they could upgrade is to make the passenger seat as big as the drivers and make the change holder a bit more convient as of now it doesnt hold your change. It drives great; it corners perfect; it turns on a dime; great sound system; and lastly it has pickup you just wouldnt believe.

Has a really great look about it. Great color combinations. V-6 has nice acceleration to pull you out of traffic situations. Nice gas mileage on the road for a V-6. Warms up fast. Spacious trunk and heated seats great for long distance driving. Would be nicer if the turn radius was tighter. View past the 90 takes some getting use too. Bose speakers very nice, great bass. Leather interiosr has a real sense of quality about it. Seating just a little stiff. Rain on roof a little tinny. Navigation package factory insatlled only, too bad. Wants to go fast, slips through the air, quiet ride at freeway speeds. Great service from dealer.

This is my 3rd Altima, the 1994 I traded in gave me 150,000 miles of excellent service....I also have a 1999 with 40K that runs perfect! The new design and the large interior make a huge difference...This is much larger than the 99...

  • A nice upgrade since my last Altima - 2005 Nissan Altima

Traded up from my 2000 Altima SE; big improvement. Went with all the bells except the NAV option and brights. Performance is very good and fun to drive. Pickup is awesome. Would recommend to anyone who wants a roomy, stylish sedan with performance.

  • Very nice care - 2005 Nissan Altima

The 2.5 SL is a very fun car to drive. The interior and exterior design are beautiful. Too bad that Nissan does not offer ABS standard. Color choices are few. Plenty of space for back passangers. Overall, this is a very nice car and a good value.

  • Best car out there! - 2005 Nissan Altima

This is an awesome car to drive. The feel of a sports car with four doors and enough room for the entire family. I will never buy a 4 cyl again.

  • Perfect - 2005 Nissan Altima

The ride is so incredibly smooth. For the price, it is really fast as well. Its got 175 hp and V-Tec, so the pick up is nice. However, after about 40,000 miles, I noticed a slight increase in engine noise. Also, as I had never felt previously, I felt it change gears ever so slightly. This car is beautiful, I recommend it to everyone!
