This Year's Model Updates:

All Altimas receives exterior styling enhancements, including new smoked headlamps and taillights, new wheel designs and a restyled front fascia and grille, along with a much needed interior redesign. The 3.5-liter V6 gets five more horsepower and three more lb-ft of torque, for a total of 250 and 249, respectively, and is now available with a five-speed automatic transmission. A new performance-oriented SE-R model joins the lineup along with a leather-lined 3.5 SL model. A newly optional DVD-based navigation system and two new exterior colors round out the changes.

Pros:
  • Sports car power in a midsize sedan body, excellent handling, roomy and comfortable interior, high level of features, distinctive styling.
Cons:
  • Considerable road noise, overboosted steering, no stability control, ABS still an extra-cost option.

  • Nice car - 2005 Nissan Altima

I love the car. My only concern is the gear shift. Third gear does not work as smooth as I would like. Perhaps it just needs to work its way out. So far I have 300 miles on it.

I bought my Altima last week, and I am glad I did. Had very good luck with our 94 Altima (owned over 8 years & put in $217 total in non-routine maint.). I drove several other cars (new and used), including Accord. No match in interior quality or driving experience. The car is very comfortable, even for taller people. Dealer made buying experience very enjoyable as well. I made correct decision in buying this car!!!

  • great car for the price - 2005 Nissan Altima

just bought it! great car for the money. thousands less than accord or camry here in puerto rico. the new interior looks and feels great. much better than domestic interiors and on par with cloth interior accords or camrys. acceleration is great. just wish i could use regular gas instead of premium. and last but not less, the looks!!! it looks more expensive than it is, better than acuras tsx, vw jettas, even better looking than lexus es 330.

  • This is an AWESOME CAR - 2005 Nissan Altima

The 2005 Nissan Altima has to be one of the best cars I have ever driven. With the cost of fuel these days, the efficient 2.5L engine is easy on the wallet but doesnt sacrifice performance even with the air conditioner on. Thoughtfulness is everywhere in this car - from the sunglasses holder, on the wheel audio controls - even down to the two cupholders. Stylish, comfort and combined fuel economy sets the Nissan Altima above all the rest in its competition.

I like the color and style of my car. People compliment me on it and ask what make it is. It is very roomy inside with a big trunk and great storage places - even for sunglasses. I have had Nissans for 12 years with no problems.

  • Will Never Leave Nissan - 2005 Nissan Altima

After many hours of reviews, I decided to purchase the 3.5 Altima. With the added HP and the spacious room ... baby on the way ... I couldnt go wrong. The cars a bullet! Gotta love that award winning V6. Almost a year into ownership and nothing has gone wrong. When its time to replace this, there will have to be something special out there for me to get something different that an Altima!

This sedan is roomy, rides smooth, and sporty handling. Nice interior. I got a great deal on it. Below TMV. The 175 hp are plenty to haul the family around. Good trunk space. Standard equipment is nice if you dont need, or want to pay extra for.

I have had a couple of minor engine problems, which were covered by the warranty ofcourse. But, overall I think this is a very beautiful car, very roomy for my 3 kids, and quick for a 4-cylinder!! The price was the reason I jumped on this one! $22,000 was a bargain.

  • How Do You Spell Relief, Its Altima - 2005 Nissan Altima

This is my 2nd Altima. I had an 02 model that I gave to a family member. I didnt really want to give it up, its such a great automobile. My other car was a Lincoln and the Altima rides just as good for a lot less money to purchase and maintain. After the Lincoln I had a Mercury SUV, which was expensive to operate, so I traded it for an 05 Altima. My eldest son has bought three (3) altimas in the last year. The bottom line for all of us is: its so much car for the price, plus the maintenance costs are reasonable.

I wanted this car for over a year. I was driving a 2004 Sentra and passed that down to my husband for his econo car. The car handles great, looks great, and the gas mileage is better than what is on the sticker. My 17 year old son says the back seat is very comfortable. I would recomend this car to everyone I know. It has been a dream to own. When I need to get another car I plan on getting the fully loaded 3.5 SL maybe in about 4 or 5 years. I still need to break this one in. Billie Martellaro
