This Year's Model Updates:

All Altimas receives exterior styling enhancements, including new smoked headlamps and taillights, new wheel designs and a restyled front fascia and grille, along with a much needed interior redesign. The 3.5-liter V6 gets five more horsepower and three more lb-ft of torque, for a total of 250 and 249, respectively, and is now available with a five-speed automatic transmission. A new performance-oriented SE-R model joins the lineup along with a leather-lined 3.5 SL model. A newly optional DVD-based navigation system and two new exterior colors round out the changes.

Pros:
  • Sports car power in a midsize sedan body, excellent handling, roomy and comfortable interior, high level of features, distinctive styling.
Cons:
  • Considerable road noise, overboosted steering, no stability control, ABS still an extra-cost option.

I really like the car. A lot of research went into the decision. Looked at Mazda 6(a bit small) and Hyundai Sonata(not available in standard) before deciding on the Altima. Altima had the size I wanted, plus the dealer agreed to the price I told him I would pay.

  • Best performance for the money - 2005 Nissan Altima

Just as background, prior to this car I owned a Porsche Boxster S, a 911 Carrera and a BMW M Roadster. When we found out we were expecting our first child, I started shopping for a more affordable car with a back seat. I have test-driven and researched just about everything out there that fits that description. The Altima SE-R was BY FAR the most horsepower and torque for the money, not to mention features like CD changer, HID lights, and much more. I compared it to an Audi A4, BMW 3 Series, Infinit G35 Coupe, and an Acura TL. The ones that rival the Altima SE-R cost about $6k more.

I would reccomend this car to anyone. i feel comfortable and safe in it. Even though i would consider this a family car, it has power. I live in Hawaii and there is alot of uphill driving, and this car has no problem keeping up. Room, room, room lots of room. The front seats can be all the way back and you still have lots of room for rear passangers. Thats hard to find. Overall, I love the car and will probably upgrade to a newer model. Cant wait to see what nisaan will come up with for the altima in the future.

I went for the Armada, but it was to pricey. I FELL IN LOVE with my altima. It picks up faster than most cars. My friend has a mustang, and he drove mine and fell in love with it as well. I love the new body of the altima, and design. It makes you feel good driving in it.

I love the Altima! It is sporty, roomy, and most importantly fuel efficient. I just traded in a SUV and dont miss it one bit. You also get a lot more for your money compared to other vehicles.

Excellent looking, fun to drive, the power of the 3.5 L engine is exhilarating to experience, as it blows by most over hyped performance 4 door sedans.

Ive had this car for not too long, but so far I love it. The only problem Ive had was the battery dying, but that was not the cars fault. Whoever put in the battery put it in wrong. After the battery was put in properly, has been running perfectly fine. This thing is only a 4 cyl yet has a lot of power to it and corners like a dream. My mom has a maxima and it has horrible turning radius, the Altima is a little better but could be improved. It is really responsive. Everyone complains that the car is too noisy, but I love the noise it makes it sound beefy, I even want an exhaust on it.

Im a long time BMW owner and this is the 1st front drive Ive had in 10 years, and Im not disapointed in the least. Reminds me of the fun I used to have with my 71 240Z but now I can carry 4 people. In my estimation Nissan is back. My in town mileage is as good as my 97 BMW 328IS but the highway is not as good. It does 0 to 60 a second quicker so I guess I shouldnt complain.

I like the overall design of the interior and exterior of the vehicle. It has been a perfect match for me, my personality, and my lifestyle. You too should experience the quality, reliability, comfort, and performance of the 2005 Nissan Altima 2.5S.
