Overview & Reviews
All Altimas receives exterior styling enhancements, including new smoked headlamps and taillights, new wheel designs and a restyled front fascia and grille, along with a much needed interior redesign. The 3.5-liter V6 gets five more horsepower and three more lb-ft of torque, for a total of 250 and 249, respectively, and is now available with a five-speed automatic transmission. A new performance-oriented SE-R model joins the lineup along with a leather-lined 3.5 SL model. A newly optional DVD-based navigation system and two new exterior colors round out the changes.
- Sports car power in a midsize sedan body, excellent handling, roomy and comfortable interior, high level of features, distinctive styling.
- Considerable road noise, overboosted steering, no stability control, ABS still an extra-cost option.

I really like this car.... - 2005 Nissan Altima
By Kevin H - December 17 - 12:26 pmThis car lives up to its reputation as a fast vehicle with lots of features. I am very happy I chose the SL model, as it has every option I was after (especially leather and sunroof). I traded in my 2000 Altima, and what a difference between the two cars!

Great Car - 2005 Nissan Altima
By Mr H - December 7 - 10:00 amWhen i first purchased this car the first trip me and my wife took was from MD to Miami FL. The car drove great all the way and i can truly say the car is great on gas. I love the power of this car. Getting through traffic is fun. I must warn that torque steer is something to look out for when getting on the gas hard. For those looking for a great car with plenty of room and power to take on cars that cost more this car is it.

Reliable car - 2005 Nissan Altima
By Bill - November 26 - 9:00 amI purchased the car used with 13K. It replaced a 97 Maxima that had 165000 miles (still running beautifully until destroyed in accident). Altima now has 45K miles and given no problems. Average 27MPG driving to work and recently 32MPG on trip. Engine is a little noisy but not an issue. Has good pickup. Corners well, has nice tight suspension. Interior nicely styled.

I will miss it a lot! - 2005 Nissan Altima
By Bolek - November 23 - 3:03 pmI am about to return this car as I leased it for the last two years and I have to tell that I will miss it a lot. For one - the $349/month with 0 down was an amazing deal considering how much they want for the fully equipped car today. To all the people who complained about the radio display being not clear in direct sunlight - you should have gotten the version with navigation system as I did. Then the radio info is displayed on the navi screen and you can see it in any light conditions. This car is a racket - you get instant response to the accelerator pedal. This comes with a price as I was getting on average 18- 19 miles to a gallon in 50/50 city/highway driving. On highway better 26.

Another Great NISSAN - 2005 Nissan Altima
By ruski1987 - October 4 - 2:16 pmResearching cars and engines, I decided to buy a Nissan. Didnt like the blown-up Maxima so I bought the Altime 3.5 SE. Great acceleration when manually shift it (5 speed automatic) goes 0-60 in 5.5 seconds with slightly modified engine (performance intake).Gas mileage is good too (19-20 city, 29-30 highway with 93 octane). After rebuilding an older Maxima, I realized you get the most quality and performance for your money with Nissan. Nissan has a great luxury line of autos (Infiniti) especially the G3 5.

Great car Very pleased - 2005 Nissan Altima
By Jim - August 30 - 11:40 amHood and trunk should be metal.Side airbags should not be an option. I put 23,000 on this car with no problem. Nissan World has the best service dept. Rotors warped at 20,000 they did brake job as warranty. The right service dept. is the key. I really enjoy this car lots of compliments. People have asked if it is a BMW 5. Rather haave the Altima I dont like maintenance bills.

I Love My Car - 2005 Nissan Altima
By MawmawofAC - August 12 - 6:10 pmAfter over six months of driving my 2005 Majestic Blue Nissan Altima, I still cant wait to get behind the wheel even if it is just to the local Wal-Mart! I still cant believe I am driving a car so beautiful inside and out. Love the sunroof, all of the steering wheel controls, and that get- up-and-go which enables a quick and safe merge into Nashvilles fast-moving traffic. (Anyone who has driven in Nashville would also appreciate the stop-on-a-dime set of brakes!!) The trunk room is great and with the fold-down seat, I have transported 8 lengths of quarter-round back to Home Depot.

love my car - 2005 Nissan Altima
By Marcia - July 14 - 12:46 pmI needed a car that had plenty of room and a great heating system. I have owned 4 Nissans and was familiar with the make. The ride is smooth even while in the backseat.
