Overview & Reviews
All Altimas receives exterior styling enhancements, including new smoked headlamps and taillights, new wheel designs and a restyled front fascia and grille, along with a much needed interior redesign. The 3.5-liter V6 gets five more horsepower and three more lb-ft of torque, for a total of 250 and 249, respectively, and is now available with a five-speed automatic transmission. A new performance-oriented SE-R model joins the lineup along with a leather-lined 3.5 SL model. A newly optional DVD-based navigation system and two new exterior colors round out the changes.
- Sports car power in a midsize sedan body, excellent handling, roomy and comfortable interior, high level of features, distinctive styling.
- Considerable road noise, overboosted steering, no stability control, ABS still an extra-cost option.

The 4 cyl gets the job done....... - 2005 Nissan Altima
By BrianB - March 9 - 5:30 pmWhile the 6 cyl model packs a bigger punch, the 4 cyl is more than adequate for normal driving. In fact, you really have to keep an eye on the speedometer because you can easily pass 70-80 mph without even noticing.

My wifes possesive of it - 2005 Nissan Altima
By sneak a trip - January 31 - 10:00 amWe just love it. Was searching for an 04 but couldnt find one in silver with features we wanted. Found an 05 with what we wanted and negotiated a price on the spot, straight up. Has been 1 week now and my wife wont give it up, to drive:). Never offered an extended warranty and havent had a follow up from dealer either. Just didnt seem to really care since they got my $, took their name off the back.

a lot of car for the money - 2005 Nissan Altima
By Johnny B Good - January 24 - 10:00 amThis car sells well below cars in its class and believe me Ive shopped around. It turns heads everywhere I go.And looks alot more expensive than it is.I love the styling from front to back. And inside there is a ton of room for a big guy like me.All the instruments are laid out nice and the ride is fast and crisp like and urban rocket.Trust me you wont be sorry if you get one.

Im in love with my mystic emerald SL - 2005 Nissan Altima
By Valerie - January 20 - 10:00 amI just recently purchased my 2005 Nissan Altima SL. This was an upgrade from a 99 Altima GXE. Boy what a difference... you cant even tell its the same model. I love absolutely everything about my Altima, from the exterior styling, color, leather interior, steering wheel controls, power drivers seat, sunroof and definitely the Bose stereo system with 6 disc dashboard changer! But I have to say what sold me on this vehicle is the V6 3.5L engine with 250 horses. What a bang for the buck! I purchased my Altima for right at $25000, about $200 over invoice. My hubby and I thought this was the best value for a midsize sports sedan, and I feel comfortable with our decision.

Loving every minute of every drive.... - 2005 Nissan Altima
By Joe Williams - January 1 - 7:13 pmI dont get to drive my SE-R much, but every time I do, I love it! Im gonna have to get a radar detector cuz it BEGS to be driven well in excess of 60mph. I had a 2003 Altima SE that was great, but this one is a very significant improvement over that one. The road noise issue has been addressed and the interior is much improved from the cheap-feeling plastic stuff that was in the old one. I havent seen a car in the class that could hope to compete with the thrill factor available here. As good as the car looks parked, it has to be driven to be appreciated. Do NOT get the automatic (though I test drove one and it handles itself well, too!) - youll be robbing yourself of a lot of joy.

Owner - 2005 Nissan Altima
By D Dilzell - December 30 - 3:26 amI have had this car since December and researched MANY others prior. This 4 cyl operates like a 6 and is good I am getting 25-18 MPG. I have been a Mazda purchaser sinc 1988, so this is a new experience but so far, so good! The only thing I notice is some sort of fan that has a "whining" sound to it -- mechanically it operates great.
