This Year's Model Updates:

All Altimas receives exterior styling enhancements, including new smoked headlamps and taillights, new wheel designs and a restyled front fascia and grille, along with a much needed interior redesign. The 3.5-liter V6 gets five more horsepower and three more lb-ft of torque, for a total of 250 and 249, respectively, and is now available with a five-speed automatic transmission. A new performance-oriented SE-R model joins the lineup along with a leather-lined 3.5 SL model. A newly optional DVD-based navigation system and two new exterior colors round out the changes.

Pros:
  • Sports car power in a midsize sedan body, excellent handling, roomy and comfortable interior, high level of features, distinctive styling.
Cons:
  • Considerable road noise, overboosted steering, no stability control, ABS still an extra-cost option.

Very sharp looking car and good performance overall, would recommend as a good family car. Lots of room and large trunk area.

2005 Nissan Altima 2.5 S, White with Black interior, 5-speed manual. Purchased new in October, 2004. Current mileage: 68,000. I have only needed one repair, and that was a crankshaft positioning sensor, which was discovered by the service engine light coming on. I have used Mobile 1 full synthetic from the beginning. The car literally drives like new.

The throttle response is great, low end torque is amazing, beats all competetion. Best of all it looks great, definitely a cure for a common car!

  • 3 Weeks and counting - 2005 Nissan Altima

Ive had my 2005 Altima 2.5S for 3 weeks now, and it just keeps getting better and better. Some creaks and rattles when I hit a bad bump, but other than that is as tight as a drum. The ride is great, and my break in mileage is over 30 mpg highway. Seats are very comfortable. Its big, comfortable, rides nice and quiet. What more can you want from a $20k car?

I have had my 05 Altima for a couple of months now, and I love it. It handles great, rides comfortably, gets excellent gas mileage, and has a great new body style. If you are trying to decide between similar cars, choose an Altima, I promise you will love it.

Just bought the 3.5 last week. Love it! Fast and great handling. Turns heads and is a blast to drive. Forget the 4 cylinder, even though the power is adequate. 250 HP is no joke- test drive and see. Great leases also being offered at this time. Hard to pass on.

  • Interior - 2005 Nissan Altima

The interior is perfect - it is large and very comfortable inside - I like the convenience of the radio controls on the steering wheel - the car ride is comparable to a much larger car - has very good pick up.

  • Finally! A Real Car - 2005 Nissan Altima

Ive had my altima now for 2 weeks, and Its better than I hoped. The interior is plush and comfy. The handling is great. It has a lot of kick for a 4 cyl. I just love my new Altima. Had a Nissan before, and glad Im back!

This is the first car Ive bought new and I absolutely love it. Its fun to drive, quiet, good on the highway and in traffic. The only complaint I have is the gas pedal is a little touchy and its easy to go fast.

  • Great Car - 2005 Nissan Altima

I love my Altima and would encourage anyone to buy one too. It is sporty, comfortable and has great highway gas milage (for a non-hybrid car). I was also considering the Toyota Camry, but felt the Altima was the better choice for a person in their late twenties.
