This Year's Model Updates:

All Altimas receives exterior styling enhancements, including new smoked headlamps and taillights, new wheel designs and a restyled front fascia and grille, along with a much needed interior redesign. The 3.5-liter V6 gets five more horsepower and three more lb-ft of torque, for a total of 250 and 249, respectively, and is now available with a five-speed automatic transmission. A new performance-oriented SE-R model joins the lineup along with a leather-lined 3.5 SL model. A newly optional DVD-based navigation system and two new exterior colors round out the changes.

Pros:
  • Sports car power in a midsize sedan body, excellent handling, roomy and comfortable interior, high level of features, distinctive styling.
Cons:
  • Considerable road noise, overboosted steering, no stability control, ABS still an extra-cost option.

  • Wow! What a car! - 2005 Nissan Altima

Very surprising car. I previously had a Toyota Celica (2001) & was unsure of the performance this "family" car would deliver. What a pleasant surprise it has turned out to be. I have had the opportunity to test the handling on some of the curviest roads in WV & it has risen to the challenge. It also offers a very comfortable ride. I have taken it on several long trips this summer & have been very comfortable through out the trip. Gas mileage is just starting to come into its own, currently only 6000 miles, but getting over 30 mpg on long trips, should continue to improve.

  • My 3rd Altima - 2005 Nissan Altima

I have owned 3 Altimas a 93, 02, and 05 and I love these cars. When I got my 02 it was pretty basic but I fell in love with the performance, stupidly I got rid of it for a truck which I later regreted. Which is why I decided to get my 05 and I am so glad I did. Unlike my 02 my 05 is loaded and its beautiful. I am very pleased with it

  • Lotta car for the money - 2005 Nissan Altima

Traded-in my 2003 Xterra (worst vehicle Ive ever owned!). Couldnt be happier with the Altima. Actually looking for reasons to drive somewhere. Fantastic engine, great looks, love the audio controls on the steering wheel, good mileage for a 250hp hot rod. Handles like a sports car with the best V6 made by anyone.

Most important thing is my wife loves it.(I surprised her with it)

  • Great car for the price - 2005 Nissan Altima

I bought the car then drove from Florida to California and everywhere in between. I logged over 13K miles and no problemo. I was on the road for four months, drove in every kind of weather possible including needing chains to make it through the mountain passes yet, it holds its own without them. I absolutely love this car.

  • I love my Altima - a great car to drive - 2005 Nissan Altima

I have had my Altima for over a year and love the way it drive and feels. It the best car in its class with a sporty feel. 0 to 60 mph in under 6 second. No other car in its class can boast as much speed. I would buy a Nissan or Infiniti again because of how fun they are to drive. I love just hitting the gas and flying buy everyone on the freeway and not even realizing I going so fast cause the Altima drive so smooth.

  • Drive an Altima-Nice Road Car - 2005 Nissan Altima

This car shines on the highway. The 4 cylinder is more than adequate for passing. Car holds the road much better than my 2 Camrys of the past. In town, my only complaint is that the 4 cylinder tends to be loud when you start up from the stop sign. Engine smooths out and runs like silk. I have a bit of air noise around the doors I dont like. Seat comfort is much better for me than my Camarys (I am 5 foot 8)Shift is easy to handle though startling at first. Turning radius is not as sharp but presents no big problems.Compared to my Camary-I miss my leather, thats all. Fabric is good and cleans well. LOVE MY ALTIMA!

All around great car. Best car for the value to price ratio. It bothers me, and is the first time I ever purchase a Japanese car..previously owned American, and one German car. But, I am very happy with the purchase knowing that somehow, some American family made some money in this transaction.

  • Im in love with my Altima! - 2005 Nissan Altima

When I sat in the showroom car I "assumed" I was in a Maxima (I was then driving a 95 Max)...my husband quickly informed me it was the Altima. I could not believe the roominess and the comfort of the interior. THEN we went for the test drive and I knew I was buying the showroom model that very day..and I did! I will never regret my decision. It is an absolutely fabulous car. Nissan has really outdone themselves with the 3.5 SR V6!
