It is a sleek looking car and caught my eye. The 4L is plenty powerful and the standard package is enough for anyone. I am 66" and I LOVE that there is no sun roof standard... if there was I would be able to fit inside. (Made me choose the Altima over the Civic Si) Thank you Nissan for that one. It is an overall fun and sporty ride with an exceptional interface between the engine and transmission.

I bought this car over 7 years ago, and it has taken us on several trips without any issues. Other than a new battery from time to time and oil changes often, this car has been great to us. Just recently, on a trip to Florida, I noticed the transmission was slipping a bit and the cruise control would not work because the sensor de-activated it, and the engine light came on. I pulled into a autozone store and they checked it quickly and advised that the transmission needed to be repaired or replaced. I drove the car a little slower on the last leg of the trip home without any problems. When I got home, I researched the site about complaints on certain cars, and discovered that the Altima had some issues. To my surprise the transmission had a 120Kmile warranty and my car had a little over 105K miles on it. I took it to Carriage Nissan in Gainesville Ga. and Alex, the service person gave me Great news. The transmission needed to be replaced and it was covered, 100%. He ordered a new transmission and the following day it arrived and I dropped my car off and was given a brand new Altima while mine was being fixed. two days later , my car was ready and just like they said, no charge and the loaner car was free. I cannot say enough of how well they treated me and Nissans warranties are legit. Im looking forward to a couple more years out of the car, and they definitely made that possible. This is the best 17 thousand dollars I ever spent.

I was looking for a vehicle to change from a 2005 Hyundai Tucson that had better gas mileage. I was looking at the Toyota Camry but I was hooked on the Altima the second I saw it. Good gas mileage, control, and acceleration that beats my 2007 Tacoma. Good car overall.

Went to purchase a car and this car was not on my vehicle list. I didnt even want to look at one. Sales person said I should just look and maybe drive one. So I did and I was amazed. They let me take it home and we purchased it the next day! I have always been a Ford person. I still am, but love my Altima!

Ive been driving this car for 2 yrs. Seriously compared to similar in class before I got into this one. Camry/Accord/Malibu/Aura, even BMW3 feel less comfortable (Drivers). Handling is amazing, Sporty suspension makes it feel just Right! //Concerns. 1st:= still cant get used to how CVT behaves when downshifting using TipTronic(manual mode):going from 4th to 3d (*those are not actual gears on CVT!) makes the car jerk a bit, but @ approx.50-60km/hr is does not happen, yet its not always easy to catch that moment. 2nd:= Fuel economy [city] a bit worse than advertised: My Min 8.7L/100km (Summer), Max 10.3L/100km (Winter). The Longest drive on 1 tank = 810 km (-not bad!;)

  • So In Love - 2008 Nissan Altima

Ive had my car a little over a month and I must say it is one of the best. I test drove and reviewed at least over 10 cars from chrysler, honda, to toyota. I previously owned a "06" G6, which was horrible. Hands down the 08 altima met my standards. The body and the interior style is wonderful. The CVT takes some time to get use to but I rarely notice. There is a little noise with accelerating, but goes away so quick you dont notice. Bottom line was sooo worth every penny!

  • Fun to drive, and more - 2008 Nissan Altima

I was a life-long GMer but last year decided I had to do whats best for me than try to keep blindly supporting the domestics. I also needed better MPG yet retain some sportiness, as I spend most time commuting alone and need some fun driving. I researched hard and narrowed it to the (then) new Malibu, Mazda6 and Altima. The Camry was too blah & Accord a bit large and also vanilla. The Malibu was closest but still a bit mushy and was a brand new model. I have put over 30k miles on my SL and couldnt be happier still. CVT is great once you get used to how it works/sounds. Great handling too. Nice interior and controls, quik-down windows. Decent std stereo. GR8 sunroof

  • First New Car, Love It - 2008 Nissan Altima

Had the car for a month and look forward to driving it every time. 4 cylinder is surprisingly quick and quite zippy. Just tapping the accelerator makes the car want to dash right off the starting line. CVT is wonderful as well. Had an old automatic Mazda Protege and I could feel each and every gear change. Now, I just drive, smoothly too. Interior is roomy. I can fill each seat and all the passengers are comfy with enough leg room. A lot of compartments to store stuff. Glove box is cavernous. Doors give a nice solid thunk when closing.

The Altima coupe has the best-looking backend of any car out there at any price. Look at it from the rear and a little to the side and its a joy to behold. The 4 cylinders get you up to speed without even trying. Back seat has more headroom (slightly) than the Scion tC and Civic coupe -- but a 6-footers head might touch the rear window. Not sure about mileage. Im still on the first tank, but it seems fairly decent. Front seats are very comfortable, with good drivers lumbar support. Drivers leg compartment is more comfortable than Civic coupe, where the parking hand brake bothered my knee, and more spacious than the Mazda 3 sedan that crowded my lower leg. A lot of quality for the money.
