This Year's Model Updates:

All Altimas receives exterior styling enhancements, including new smoked headlamps and taillights, new wheel designs and a restyled front fascia and grille, along with a much needed interior redesign. The 3.5-liter V6 gets five more horsepower and three more lb-ft of torque, for a total of 250 and 249, respectively, and is now available with a five-speed automatic transmission. A new performance-oriented SE-R model joins the lineup along with a leather-lined 3.5 SL model. A newly optional DVD-based navigation system and two new exterior colors round out the changes.

Pros:
  • Sports car power in a midsize sedan body, excellent handling, roomy and comfortable interior, high level of features, distinctive styling.
Cons:
  • Considerable road noise, overboosted steering, no stability control, ABS still an extra-cost option.

Altima is only two weeks old today. So far its been fun to drive. Gives you a sense of a muscle car with elegance. Solid built, sturdy and comfortable.

I bought an Altima 2.5 with SL package after comparing the Accord and Mazda6. Insurance rates was a factor that made the choice for me. Quotes for the Altima were way lower than the other two cars. Although there are features that the Altima lacks compared with the Mazda 6 (Traction Control, Dual exhaust ports, sport shift mode), the bigger cabin space of the Altima, outweighs this. Compared with the Accord, I find the Altima a better bang for the buck even if the Accord has a 5 speed AT. 175 HP engine speaks well of itself. The car just goes when I step on the gas pedal. Sometimes too much that I often exceed road speed limits.

I love this car because although I dont have a family or a lot of people in my car always, the space is always there when you need it. and even though you might have guests in your car, the space is still there. It is a great car to travel in. You dont have to worry about being uncomfortable on a long trip. Im only 23 and its my first new car, and so far I love it!!!

Having come from a gas-guzzling SUV, it is nice to have a car that gets excellent gas mileage.

I purchased my 2004 from a rental company and it already had 25000 mi on before I got it. 5000 miles later it still runs like new. Much quieter and much better fuel econ (27-28 mpg) than the Sable I got rid of.

  • Awsome Car!!! - 2005 Nissan Altima

Peviously I had a 2000 Maxima GLE which was great. This Altima is a great car. I had hasitations about going from a Maxima down to a Altima but, I no longer see it as going down. The Altima is very roomy, great fuel economy, and handles well. The 2.5S although a 4 cylinder has great power and pep. This is my first Altima and I am very happy. I had thought about a Camry but, the ride is better in the Altima and more pep. Super Black is a great color as well. For the price, this is the car!!!

I am particularly pleased with the safety features that Nissan had put into the Altima. I was driving my car when I was hit by a tornado. The pressure and debris caused all the glass in the car to break. I did not receive a single scratch or cut. I also love the performance of my Altima. It rides smooth and accelerates on command! My only dislike is the road noise. It can be loud on certain pavements especially on the interstate.

Recently purchased black 2005 Altima 3.5SE with 5speed. Traded in family minivan and couldnt be happier. Room is aplenty. Has two personalities- family sedan and adrenaline-juiced sports car. Styling is sweet both inside and out.
