This Year's Model Updates:

After last year's debut to critical acclaim, Nissan's midsize sedan receives minor changes for 2003. Two new exterior colors, Sonoma Sunset and Crystal Blue add pizzazz to the wardrobe. There's a new charcoal seat fabric, padded cloth front center armrest cover (genuine leather on leather-equipped vehicles) and bright titanium interior accent colors for all models to spruce up the interior. The 2.5 SL receives a standard automatic transmission, heated front seats, heated outside mirrors and simulated wood trim. For the 3.5 SE, there is a Sport Package, which includes a sunroof and spoiler, and a Sport Package Plus, which includes sunroof, spoiler, Bose audio system and HID headlights. The 3.5 SE Leather Package now includes a Bose audio system, sunroof and heated seats, while the Leather Sport Package adds a spoiler and xenon headlights. Finally, a new 3.5 SE Premium Leather Package sports all of the above plus throws in fake wood to boot. How can you go wrong?

Pros:
  • Sports car power in a midsize sedan body, high level of features, explosive V6 engine, distinct styling.
Cons:
  • Shabby interior materials, overboosted steering, no stability control.

  • My 2003 3.5 - 2003 Nissan Altima

I love m 3.5 Altima a lot. In 2 more weeks I will have had it 1 year. Also Im closing in on 23,000 miles and I can say the car is a blast to drive especially in 5sp, Im never bored driving it and its power always surprises me. The 3.5 liter engine is so smooth and you cant even hear it accelerating. You can hear some oadnoise but not to the point of unbearable and constantly noticeable. But all in all I love my Altima and wouldnt trade it for anything.

  • Great Car to Have - 2003 Nissan Altima

Love the design of the car both inside and out. Wanted something alittle sporty yet able to accommidate a family of 4 on trips comfortably. It handles well, however, having gone from an SUV to a car I can feel the highway alittle more than I did before....bumps, dips, etc. Overall, I am completly satisfied with my purchase!!!

Although I havent owned "my" own personal Nissan Altima very long (just over a month), my in-laws have owned two which Ive driven frequently and my late husband worked at a local Nissan dealership, so Ive been exposed to them over a matter of years, and driven them a lot. Im encouraged to see that they are finally commanding respect and recognition in the consumer marketplace. They are great!

Have had car a month, but drove a lot as we took it on long vacation. Rides great, handles tight. Love it in big city traffic or winding road trips.First trip got 33 mpg hiway, fully loaded trunk.---Sound system is fantastic !! Only drawback is OEM Tire selection all season radial Continentals. I will quiet this car with better tires. Current tires too noisy at high speed. Nissan should have gone with Dunlop or Michelin. I will.

We are big Nisson fans here at my home. This is my second Altima. My first was a 1997. The Altima today is a class act. I have the 3.5 in pearl. It is very sporty and fun to drive. Now I just need to keep my boys out of it!!

I spent the last 3 years in a 1998 Mitsubishi Galant LS. It was a four cyl. and couldnt get out of its own way. I vowed to myself that I would go with a 6 cyl. the next time around no matter what. Once I did my research and priced the car with everything I wanted in it, it dawned on me, I couldnt afford this V- 6 with the options. So I said I would go with a basic V-6 with no added options. Then I went to the dealership and test drove the 4 Cyl. S. This car has amazing power for a 4 cyl engine. At 175 hp, it has about 45 more than my Galant did, and it seems like 145 more.

  • Great car, great price - 2003 Nissan Altima

Bought the 03 Altima in September, and Ive been enjoying it ever since. I considered the 3.5, but frankly, with Chicago traffic the way it is, I just couldnt see spending the money when Ill barely even get to play fully with the full capability of the 2.5. Even at that, the 2.5 has plenty of getup and go. Cant say as I was impressed with the sales staff, but I went in armed with Edmunds, Consumer Reports, and Kelly Blue Books pricing lists, so there was no doubt as to the accuracy of my numbers.

  • It Gets No Better Than This! - 2003 Nissan Altima

I just purchased my Altima on the 1st of December and I simply love it to death. It drives superb and hands very good handling on the highway and the interior is simply awesome. I traded in a 2000 Nissan Altima to get this new baby. Its simply "Nissan or Nothing!" This is the best quality midsize car on the market now.
