This Year's Model Updates:

All Altimas receives exterior styling enhancements, including new smoked headlamps and taillights, new wheel designs and a restyled front fascia and grille, along with a much needed interior redesign. The 3.5-liter V6 gets five more horsepower and three more lb-ft of torque, for a total of 250 and 249, respectively, and is now available with a five-speed automatic transmission. A new performance-oriented SE-R model joins the lineup along with a leather-lined 3.5 SL model. A newly optional DVD-based navigation system and two new exterior colors round out the changes.

Pros:
  • Sports car power in a midsize sedan body, excellent handling, roomy and comfortable interior, high level of features, distinctive styling.
Cons:
  • Considerable road noise, overboosted steering, no stability control, ABS still an extra-cost option.

  • Great car in and out... - 2005 Nissan Altima

I saw this car in the dealers lot while I was browsing through the Maximas, and I am glad I did. I always liked Altimas. Only turn off for me was the interior. This model has a interior just like Maxima, which looks very classy and sleek. All the controls and knobs are within comfortable reach. Exterior looks great. Interior is very roomy. Even after I test drove some SUVs, I felt very comfortable in this car. I purchased the 2.5 liter because of the price distance. However, I still think the engine performance, especially high speed, is wonderful.

  • I LOVE THIS CAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - 2005 Nissan Altima

We just bought our Altima 3.5 SL one week ago. It is loaded with everything except the navigation system, which would be great for some people, but for me it would be to distracting! I have never enjoyed driving a car as much as I do this one! It is comfortable, has a smooth ride and is FAST!! Im afraid I am really going to get in trouble with this car!! I would encourage anyone looking for a new vehicle to take a look at the Altima. I started out looking for a Pathfinder. After I drove the Altima, I knew it was "the one". I cant wait to take a road trip in this car!

Its a great car for the money and so easy to drive! I considered purchasing either the Toyota Camry or Honda Accord, but neither came close to the performance, styling and overall value of the Nissan Altima. New for 2005, Nissan did a great job on the styling of the front-end and interior! Much improved over the 2004 model. Everything seems to flow very nicely with fit and finish as opposed to the Camry and Accord, where everything is a bit more “clunky.” The 5-speed automatic transmission is great, you can either have the car shift for you, or you can elect to bang through the gears under high acceleration yourself, seeing 0-60mph under just 6.0 seconds! The gas mileage is awesome with the

I think the new changes that Nissan has made to the 2005 Altima are fantastic, I love the new interior and the smoked out front lites are a treat. To see, and drive this vehicle is to love this vehicle.

  • I love it so far - 2005 Nissan Altima

Ive had my Altima for a couple of months now, and Im very happy so far. Ive read some other reviews where people have one problem after another, but I must be lucky because I have had not a single issue, and I have pushed this car hard. Its a real rush when you hammer it, and the Bose sound system is great.

I now have three Nissan vehicles and find my 2004 Altima 2.5SL to be the best $20K luxury car on the market. I have over six foot tall and there is still room for adults in the back seat. Reliability has been flawness and gas mileage for my daily commute averages over 28 MPG.

  • Sporty with a touch class - 2005 Nissan Altima

I use to own a mustang cov and it was a fun car to drive but lacking space,in the trunk and interior, but when i got into the altima wow a whole new experience.I never though that a sedan can be fun to drive with out spending big bucks, i found a lot of aftermarket accessoiries, for the exterior making the car look very classy. It handels well for a sedan, i got the convenience pakage plus which includes a sun roof, trip computer and a lot of other fun stuff, the color satin white very classy and the best thing is a 20 gal gas tank and great gas milage 21 city and 28 hwy.I realy do not have any thing neg to say only that evry where i look i see an altima.Test drive one see for your self.

  • This is my second Altima - 2005 Nissan Altima

I purchased a second Nissan Altima last December replacing my 1997 that had been hit and totaled. The 2005 has improvements that show Nissan listens to its customers. The windows can be opened and closed without turning the engine on, the back seats fold down wider allowing larger items to fit into trunk, the trunk opens wider and lower, a larger "donut tire" is given, the key lock on trunk with sliding Nissan cover has been eliminated. My logo cover on key lock on my 1997 fell off long ago and all the other ones I have seen on other cars are broken also. They got rid of those plastic hub cabs that cracked and fell off. Plenty of compartments to hide stuff.
