This Year's Model Updates:

All Altimas receives exterior styling enhancements, including new smoked headlamps and taillights, new wheel designs and a restyled front fascia and grille, along with a much needed interior redesign. The 3.5-liter V6 gets five more horsepower and three more lb-ft of torque, for a total of 250 and 249, respectively, and is now available with a five-speed automatic transmission. A new performance-oriented SE-R model joins the lineup along with a leather-lined 3.5 SL model. A newly optional DVD-based navigation system and two new exterior colors round out the changes.

Pros:
  • Sports car power in a midsize sedan body, excellent handling, roomy and comfortable interior, high level of features, distinctive styling.
Cons:
  • Considerable road noise, overboosted steering, no stability control, ABS still an extra-cost option.

  • 1,200 mile update - 2005 Nissan Altima

After 1,200 miles this car continues to impress behind the wheel. Its the first car Ive owned in ages that I drive so I can. Look for an excuse to drive it. Came from a 2003 Maxma GLE, and dont miss the Max one bit. Altima doesnt feel as porky and ungainly as the more powerful Max. Fit and finish rival my friends C230, and car is solid. Quiet at 80, even with the roof open. All bells and whistles, and the 175HP 4 is great; both powerwise and economywise. Lots of pep; and 25 mpg city. Quiet, comfortable interior, heated leather seats, Bose Stereo complete package. Climate control excellent. Majestic Blue with Blond/wood interior v/elegant. Get the SL Package; you wont regret it.

  • A great reliable vehicle. - 2005 Nissan Altima

I purchased my 05 Altima in Febraury and must say, I am simply satisftied. When driving the sedan the suspension is great (compared to the Sentra I previously owned) For the price you pay for the Altima, I believe you are getting you moneys worth. Before reaching empty I can travel approx.310 miles. In this day in age with gas prices raising, I think the mileage, and fuel economy is key to purchasing you vehicle. If I had the choice to purchase another car the Altima will be my choice!! (with the navigation system of course)

Driveability, controlability plus visibilty were greater than expected. Using regular gas was a surprise. Bought in Phoenix and driven to Milwaukee the next three days at speed with nothing to complain about. Have 3600 miles and am pleased. Navigation unit was and is a puzzlement in spite of the big instruction book. Will find someone to help.

  • Puts the "fun" back into driving! - 2005 Nissan Altima

Excellent performer. After 25,000 KM it is as smooth and responsive as when it was first driven. Wonderful interior with a small car feel, but big car look. Great interior details which set it apart from other competitors, particulalry anything from the big 3. Not even in the same ball park as some of the other pretenders: Impala, G6, Grand AM, Fusion, etc.

  • I Love My Car - 2005 Nissan Altima

Over a year later and nearly 32,000 miles, and I still look forward to every time I get behind the wheel! The car handles well in any kind of road condition, accelerates quickly and stops on a dime – a plus when it comes to Nashville driving. FUN to drive (though I got to watch out for those blue lights)! Such a comfortable ride both front and back, and for a fairly tall woman (with back trouble), I am seldom stiff when I get out of the car. It is a beautiful car, inside and out.

Nice sporty car for the money!! It looks great and drives great. Great acceleration, sporty, and decent fuel mileage. Very nice stereo from factory. If youre in the market for a awesome car that is affordable, sporty and that will turn heads then you have found it.

  • Excellent choice - 2005 Nissan Altima

I traded in a 01 Maxima for my new 05 Altima. Besides losing horsepower, I think this is the best decision Ive made in a long time. This car gives great gas mileage and is very comfortable to drive. I would definitely advise anyone to make the same choice.

  • My V6 Altima - 2005 Nissan Altima

This is, in its class, the best of the best. It has extraordinary detailing and is beautiful to look at. The dash is user friendly and not cluttered. The pick-up and go is exciting and a feeling of security to know that if I need that power, its there. I would not trade it for anything shy of a Mercedes.
