This Year's Model Updates:

The Altima's winning formula continues with few changes. Smoke is a new exterior color choice, and four-cylinder models meet stricter federal emissions standards. Models with California emissions are now classified as Partial Zero Emissions Vehicles (PZEV).

Pros:
  • Sports car power in a midsize sedan body, excellent handling, roomy and comfortable interior, high level of features, distinct styling.
Cons:
  • Low-grade interior materials, considerable road noise, overboosted steering, no stability control.

  • Heater - 2004 Nissan Altima

I did not like the heater. The windows kept fogging up on me and I had to put the defroster on full blast to clear them. At times it seemed to blow cold air on my legs also. This is a rental car but I had it for 8 days. Nice car to drive though and would but one except for the heater nuisance.

  • Best In Class - 2004 Nissan Altima

I love this car. It is well designed, good looking and great value for the money. It is big inside and out with a smooth quiet ride and the trunk is huge. The tilt / telescope wheel allow for a very relaxed seating position. There is a lot of aluminum in this car making it the lightest and most responsive in its class. The four cylinder has lots of power, and I cant imagine why anyone would get the six. For only $500 I got a p/seat, security, trip PC, alloy wheels, controls on the steering wheel, remote opens the trunk, doors and both front windows, and a really awesome sound system. Toyota and Honda finally have some real competition!

  • Worth the cost - 2004 Nissan Altima

Compared it to the Camry and for value and styling it was the better buy. With the limited amount of miles we have on the car it has performed well.

  • Nissan Not So Happy - 2004 Nissan Altima

While the car is stylish, the seating is not comfortable for long drives. The 4 cyl has plenty of power for highway passing, and keeping it in 3rd while city driving can be fun. The steering is not responsive, and gives the feeling that you may loose control in tight turns. I am unhappy with the fit and finish of the interior parts. The lack of a hood liner, trunk lid liner, and solid flooring in the trunk make for more road noise in the cabin. Back seat passengers have plenty of room even with the front seats moved back.

  • My First Car - 2004 Nissan Altima

I love the Nissan. It makes me feel so safe because of its design (did you know its made from one piece of steel, not many fused together?), and I never have any problems. If it werent for this car, I wouldnt have been able to avoid a wreck with some stupid teenager. The price is so much lower than the worth, and the value stays high. I love my car, and I know anyone else who buys one will love it to! Also, although I bought the 2.5, I specialized it with everything the 3.5 has, and even wound up saving a little money!

Best car I have ever owned. My choice was between a Jetta, and the Altima, and very glad I chose the Altima.

  • A race car disguised as a family sedan - 2004 Nissan Altima

This car performs really good for a 4 cylinder automatic. Once you drive it, its hard to believe its only a 4 cylinder engine. I find the ride quiet and pleasurable. Afterall tires do make a difference with regard to road noise. This car came through with Bridgestone tires, good choice from Nissan, excellent tire. The cheaply made door panels have no affect on the overall performance.

  • Best Car Ever!!!! - 2004 Nissan Altima

This is my first brand new car and I LOVE IT!!!! Ive gone to Georgia, Michigan, and now back to North Carolina and it has handled so well. The car has a sporty outside look but has the luxury feel inside. My husband and I looked at the Grand Prixs and the Chevy Impalas and the Altima STILL had more room than both combined. I was shocked. It handles so well on the road and has such a smooth ride every time I drive it. Its amazing. We put a sun roof in it and a spoiler on the back and I love it. Everything about it, I love.
