This Year's Model Updates:

All Altimas receives exterior styling enhancements, including new smoked headlamps and taillights, new wheel designs and a restyled front fascia and grille, along with a much needed interior redesign. The 3.5-liter V6 gets five more horsepower and three more lb-ft of torque, for a total of 250 and 249, respectively, and is now available with a five-speed automatic transmission. A new performance-oriented SE-R model joins the lineup along with a leather-lined 3.5 SL model. A newly optional DVD-based navigation system and two new exterior colors round out the changes.

Pros:
  • Sports car power in a midsize sedan body, excellent handling, roomy and comfortable interior, high level of features, distinctive styling.
Cons:
  • Considerable road noise, overboosted steering, no stability control, ABS still an extra-cost option.

  • Essentially Flawless - 2005 Nissan Altima

So far, I have had zero problems; my only trip to the dealer was to have tint and spoiler installed. Car is refreshing to drive; it has power to burn, is reassuring and stable in terms of handling, and looks gorgeous. It has a crisp, aggressive stance, but is not outlandish looking. Overall, an exceptional value!

I am so surprised at the zip, fantastic interior. Be careful when you push on the gas pedal, it will surprise you. Nissan does not reimburse for handicapped equipment and I almost did not buy it for that reason. They need to get in the real world with all the other auto companies reimbursing up to $1000. for handicapped installs. Love my car

The biggest surprise is how much power this car really has under the hood. Solid from the minute you step on the pedal. Great lines and the interior is much improved over 2004. Very comfortable in the front seats as well as in the back. A Great Buy!

Ive just purchased this vehicle about a week ago and I cant say enough positive things about it. Engine power is more than enough at 175hp, acceleration is brisk and braking solid. Its surprisingly good in the corners. Only detractors are the paint being a little fragile and the turning radius isnt the best for the size car that it is.

  • My 2.5 S w/ Conv. Package - 2005 Nissan Altima

I purchased my 05 in Jan. of 05 with 60 miles on it - today I have 99500! And it is still going strong, it does have road noise, and i find that it doesnt ride all that smooth. I had a battery problem 3 winters in a Row - Nissan replaced the battery each time - nothing really determined except needed new battery. I agree, tires from Nissan are awful on set # 3 (first 2 from Nissan) and need new brakes/rotors - GREAT gas mileage approx. 425 miles per tank! I do alot of highway driving...Wonder how much longer it will last?

ive looked at honda accord and toyota camry and test drove them but there was something about their brakes and the way they ran .. but when i drove nissan altima for the first time it felt just right .. everything about it was just perfect .. from the interior and exterior .. plus i drive it a lot .. it is already up to 40k miles .. no check engine lite , tires still look new ..

I love my Nissan. Ill just get that one out of the way. For a 2.5/175 hp its got some giddy up and go. It handles pretty well. I wish it didnt have as much roll when Im taking tight turns. I wish it had more hp. And I wish it had a nice system, but I installed that. But Im used to BMW and Mercedes-Benz.

i had a lot of compliment on this vehicle. fun to drive but too much interior noise and poor stability. nissan need to improve in these 2 areas. running a 250h.p. vehicle need some stability on the road. this is my 3rd new nissan i am very pleased with them.

  • Just Test Drive It !! - 2005 Nissan Altima

This car i awesome. I test drove the Camry XLE V6 and then went to the Nissan dealer and drove the 05 Altima 3.5 SE w/Nav. No contest. If you want a powerful V6 with style and loaded with features this is the car. This car performs as good as it looks. Comfortable heated leather seats in front and a rommy backseat. Cost me $28k for a loaded 3.5 SE w/Nav & TCS/Side Airbags.
