Overview & Reviews
The all-new third-generation 2002 Altima represents a total revision and rethinking of Nissan's midsize sedan -- it brings a level of design and performance that currently does not exist in its class. With a choice of a 240-horsepower, 3.5-liter V6 or 175-horsepower, 2.5-liter four-cylinder and an all-new four-wheel independent suspension, the Altima offers spirit with state-of-the-art technology. An aggressive new exterior design with increases in all major dimensions and a driver-oriented interior with myriad convenience and luxury features set the Altima apart in the highly competitive sedan marketplace.
- Sports car power in a midsize sedan body, high level of features, distinct new shape.
- All-new design could mean first-year teething problems and dealer mark-up.

No regrets with my 2002 Altima SE - 2002 Nissan Altima
By tmcaridi - October 6 - 2:00 amMy Altima has over 17,000 miles now and I enjoy it driving it as much as when I first got it. Living in the suburbs of a major city with plenty of winding roads through the country-side makes this vehicle a pure pleasure to drive. It has great performance, excellent handling and is still gets a lot of looks. The 5-speed manual is the way to go if youre a driving enthusiast.

Great Bang for the Buck - 2002 Nissan Altima
By hobybm - September 11 - 10:00 amI have not had this vehicle long, but I already love it. I know I will love it for years to come. I will post again in a year or so, to show that I still love this car. I cannot find any problems with it. Some say the interior is cheap, but for the amount I paid, its exactly what I expected.

My first car - 2002 Nissan Altima
By Lil J - August 4 - 6:30 amMan there is only one thing that i have to say about this car. Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I got this car after i graduated from high school. I thought that i was gonna get a 2.5S but i got a 3.5Se. The performance in this car is awesome. I can reach 0-60 in like 6.0 Seconds. I remember one day i was on the expressway and i thought i was speeding, i looked down at the speedometer and i was only going 50. This car has great handling and great pick up. I especially love the dual exhaust and the xenons that my car came with. It makes me think that i have a lexus or something. The bose system is great to. The only thing that i want is the navi system but i can deal without it.A great car.

2002 Altima a Winner!!!! - 2002 Nissan Altima
By SUZYQ102 - July 31 - 2:00 amEXCELLENT CAR!!!! LOOKS FABOLOUS AND IS A REAL HEAD TURNER. I GOT AT LEAST 20 compliments the first week I had it. The drivetrain is excellent. The 4 speed performs without flaw. Fun to drive!!!! I got the "plus" package which adds a power sunroof. This feature is a lot of fun. It also adds the alloy wheels which are nice and it adds a couple other amenities.

Great Buy, performance for 5 - 2002 Nissan Altima
By Formula - July 30 - 10:00 amPurchased my Altima less than a month ago, I just hit 1000 miles and am already getting 28 miles/gallon. I have not owned anything but German since my 91 300z but this car brought me back. Nothing like passing the BMWs with three of your friends waving. I was looking at AUDI but you can not beat this car for the price.

room with zip - 2002 Nissan Altima
By DCrane - June 17 - 10:00 amPlanned to buy a Passat until I saw the first one of the new Altimas. Checked it out and was very impressed. The handling is incredible, changes lanes as fast as my race tuned Datsun 2000! And if you are over 6 feet tall, this is the sedan for you. More leg room front and back than my wifes Volvo. The car has some great, well thought out features normally found on more expensive models. The key fob that opens the windows remotely is a great feature I didnt give much thought to but use daily, and the Bose stereo has got to be heard! Be prepared to find onlookers gathered around the car when you come out of the grocery store.

XMAX - 2002 Nissan Altima
By csrmax - June 17 - 2:00 amHaving owned 3 Maxima SEs, I never thought I would consider buying an Altima. I was looking at the Acura TL Type S, Jaguar X type and pre-owned BMW 330 series. On a visit to my dealership, they had a silver/black leather on the floor, and I couldnt believe I was in a Nissan dealer! The Maxima was starting to look very dated, but the Altima grabbed my attention, especially after I spent a day driving it around. Needless to say, I now have a Silver/Black leather parked in my driveway, and feel that I received great value for 30K!
