Overview & Reviews
The Altima's winning formula continues with few changes. Smoke is a new exterior color choice, and four-cylinder models meet stricter federal emissions standards. Models with California emissions are now classified as Partial Zero Emissions Vehicles (PZEV).
- Sports car power in a midsize sedan body, excellent handling, roomy and comfortable interior, high level of features, distinct styling.
- Low-grade interior materials, considerable road noise, overboosted steering, no stability control.

a poor mans BMW - 2004 Nissan Altima
By Ravi Viswanathan - December 13 - 10:00 amI was one of the very few who bought this car when it was available from Oct02. I compared this car against Acura 3.2 TL Maxima 2002 and decided that this car is the one for me. When I test drove the car I was amazed @ the pick-up and handling.I have driven BMW 3&5, Mercedes c-320, Cadiilac CTS, Acura 3.2 TL, Audi 4.5. This car for the price you pay, offers about 80% the performance of these cars @ about 55% of their price. My friend who bought an Audi 4.2 for about 55000 dollars had this much to say. "My car is twice as costly as this Altima, but it does not give twice as much performance as this".

Classy and Elegant, Great Gas Car - 2004 Nissan Altima
By Mary D - December 2 - 10:00 amI had a Nissan Xterra and loved it. However the gas mileage was not what I expected. Having to fill up every week for gas. So I traded it for a new 2005 Altima. What a classy, elegant car that is like driving a cloud. Smooth ride, great interior. Roomy with lots of head and leg room for all. A tank of gas now lasts me 2 weeks instead of one. I have gotten so many compliments on this car. (Mystic Emerald color) Have been a Ford driver, but am now a SOLD Nissan fan.

2004 Altima with 225,000 miles - 2004 Nissan Altima
By Bob S - August 5 - 10:00 amCant beat this car. I bought it in 2005 and it had 19,000 miles. Now it has 225,000 miles and still going strong. I have replaced the alternator, crank shaft position sensor (car was stalling a lot), and A/C expansion valve. I live in FL so A/C is a must. A/C repair was the most expensive at $375. Overall it gets 5 stars. I am hoping to get to 400,000 miles before giving it up.

Very nice car - 2004 Nissan Altima
By RJN - July 26 - 2:00 amI test drove everything and finally settled on the Altima. Drives wonderfully and gets good gas mileage. Exterior styling is awesome. The 2.5 moves it well...can easily be at 70+ mph. Watch out for smokey!

fun and rommie at a resonable cost - 2004 Nissan Altima
By tuller - May 7 - 2:00 amI test drove may cars (accord, acura, passat) and found this was by far the best car for the dollar. I first drove the 4 cyl. version and really liked it, but then I decided to venture out and try the 6 cyl. version and I fell in love, I had to have it. After 1 month I still cannot be Happier about my decision
