This Year's Model Updates:

All Altimas receives exterior styling enhancements, including new smoked headlamps and taillights, new wheel designs and a restyled front fascia and grille, along with a much needed interior redesign. The 3.5-liter V6 gets five more horsepower and three more lb-ft of torque, for a total of 250 and 249, respectively, and is now available with a five-speed automatic transmission. A new performance-oriented SE-R model joins the lineup along with a leather-lined 3.5 SL model. A newly optional DVD-based navigation system and two new exterior colors round out the changes.

Pros:
  • Sports car power in a midsize sedan body, excellent handling, roomy and comfortable interior, high level of features, distinctive styling.
Cons:
  • Considerable road noise, overboosted steering, no stability control, ABS still an extra-cost option.

  • Love That Altima - 2005 Nissan Altima

This is my very first Altima, didnt really like any of the older models. However this is my fourth Nissan. Sure am happy I gave this new model a try. Besides being very pretty to look at, its very comfortable for my six foot plus body. And the 4 cylinder engine still out performs a whole bunch of sixes that Ive put it against. Love it love it love it.

I just bought my Nissan Altime 2 days ago and I absolutley love it. Coming from a 03Pontiac Grand Am I wasnt used to foreign cars yet, which I guess gives me more appreciation of them. I was between the altima and an acoord and by far just by looking at the accord there was no better choice. Everyone says side curtain airbags come standard on the accord but they dont the one I was looking at didnt even have it as an option. So by far there is no better choice then the altima at least in my opinion.

I have owned my car since February, 2005. I decided to purchase a Nissan after having it as a rental after a car accident. I tried other vehicles, and despite some - what I consider minor - issues, like noise, the quality of the car including size and overall performance and presentation was the best I found.

I have a 1998 Altima. I gave it to my son. I borrowed his car and could feel the difference in speed and shigting. I rate my 2005 Altima as a 10

this vehicle continues to be better then expected, even though we had a 2002 model

  • What a Car - 2005 Nissan Altima

After looking at Honda Accord and Toyota Camry, this was by FAR the best of the lot. Interior size and performance made this car the head of the pack. The exteriors design if anything but boring . The Accord and Camry were to generic. This car has plenty of get up and go and style to turn heads.. very glad to get this car.

  • Sit Back and Enjoy the Ride! - 2005 Nissan Altima

Only had this car for a fewmonths. Got the 3.5 SE with leather package, sunroof, larger tires, Bose Stereo, plus all the other bells and wistles. This car is not only fun to drive, it is fast and very responsive. Love the interior. That is primarily where this car wins big over the boring Accord and Camry.

  • Spacious and Comfortable Car with Power - 2005 Nissan Altima

Ive owned my 2005 Altima less than a week, though I had a 2005 rental before this, and that is what inspired me to buy one. I call it a poor mans luxury car - it is very roomy and comfortable to ride in. Everything is laid out clearly and well; all the controls are intuitive. The leg room is ample for a driver of any height. The trunk is cavernous and the rear seats fold forward for extra hauling room. The brakes, acceleration, everything is smooth, responsive and quick. My only complaint - it is not available in very exciting colors, except the expensive sport model red. I have the pearlescent coral sand - which looks different in varying light. I am having a spoiler added.

  • REPLACED 1992 MAXIMA - 2005 Nissan Altima
    By -

The new 2005 Altima has both beauty and performance. I hated to part with the 92 Maxima but was sold the minute I test drove the 2005 Altima. For a 4-cylinder vehicle, I expected less and was pleasantly surprised at the pickup and ease of handling. Congratulations to Nissan on this beauty!
