Overview & Reviews
The Altima's winning formula continues with few changes. Smoke is a new exterior color choice, and four-cylinder models meet stricter federal emissions standards. Models with California emissions are now classified as Partial Zero Emissions Vehicles (PZEV).
- Sports car power in a midsize sedan body, excellent handling, roomy and comfortable interior, high level of features, distinct styling.
- Low-grade interior materials, considerable road noise, overboosted steering, no stability control.

Great car - 2004 Nissan Altima
By Erik - March 22 - 9:52 pm2nd car I ever owned. Have had only one alternator replacement, valve head gasket replacement and some sensors as major repairs. Other than that, the car has been super good. I have spent a total of about $7000 for all repairs AND maintenance, including tires in 11 years of ownership. I have put over 200K miles on it and it has NEVER left me stranded. 70K of those miles were in NYC and those roads and the stop and go destroys the car. However, the car is still going strong. Of course, I have done most of the repairs and maintenance myself. So I have same a VERY large amount in labor.

massive excellence - 2004 Nissan Altima
By lauraboop - February 18 - 2:00 amThe power under the hood tranfers to you as the driver and gives you this over whelming sense of one. This car is a car made for the "Gods" and Nissan definately made a car worth reproduction year after year. Very smooth ride with tons of style to spare its passengers.

Just love it - 2004 Nissan Altima
By zoom_zoom - February 18 - 2:00 amOwn in for about 3 weeks now. Just love it. Fun to drive, very roomy, very good milage(30-33 on highway, 23+ in city), leather is good, Bose audio is awesome. No need to say its sexiest looking car in that price-range.

Too many repairs - 2004 Nissan Altima
By pdupuy - January 6 - 8:50 pmI have had to bring this car back to the dealership numerous times. Ive always had to bring it back more than once for the same repair. Now I keep having sensors go out, its out of warranty and Im spending a small fortune in repairs. Want to trade it in, not sure at this point if i ever want another Nissan. I love the design but the reliability is extremely disappointing. No way I should be having this much trouble, this car should last 200,000 miles easily.

Never again! - 2004 Nissan Altima
By element - December 14 - 8:26 amV6 engine is a +. Interior has a lot of space. Exterior looks very good to be called an Altima. The parts on and in the car is something else. Got my 2004 Altima in Dec. of 2003 and the o2 sensor wend bad @ 1200 miles after that was the left strut at 6000 miles. Then the right at 6800 miles. Over and over. Never ending. Total times struts were replaced is around 7 times for a 2004 Altima w/ 17800 miles. Now Nissan Service has me going in again for a window molding to be repaired for the 4 time now. Nissan Service, and the Altima. NEVER AGAIN! Tips for the ones thinking about the new Altimas. Dont do it. Check all websites w/ info on the Altimas. Wish me luck w/ my lemon.

Silver Bullet! - 2004 Nissan Altima
By LiquidSilver - November 13 - 2:00 amI have had my eye on the Altima and took the opportunity to buy one of my own when my 99 Ford with less than 80K miles needed a new engine! I love this car, it is beautiful and fun to drive. Very smooth shifting and ride. Very low road noise. I wanted an 05 but got a much better interest rate on the 04, and I dont regret my decision. No more American junk for me!
