This Year's Model Updates:

Enhancements for the 2005 Nissan 350Z include a standard tire-pressure monitor, heated outside mirrors and a driver-seat height adjuster for both front and rear portions of the bottom cushion. Clutch pedal effort has been reduced this year, and the five-speed automatic transmission now features downshift rev matching. The navigation system has a faster processor for improved route calculation times. A special 35th Anniversary edition includes 18-inch alloy wheels, Brembo brakes, front chin spoiler, rear spoiler, available two-tone leather seats and a choice of three exterior colors, including a new Ultra Yellow. A slight bump in horsepower is also part of the package.

Pros:
  • Smooth and powerful V6 engine, excellent handling, available drop-top version, a bargain compared to anything that can run with it.
Cons:
  • Rough ride on Track model, some low-grade interior materials, lack of luggage space, poor rearward visibility.

Great car. Only problem was motor on window failed at 18 months. Dealer fixed it under warranty. Love the convertible, sounds good w/ good acceleration. Easy to damage or scrape front end on curbs, etc. due to low front end. (Part of the appeal of this car, but something to be aware of). Aluminum hood can be damage easily just by leaning on it, or in my case damaged by hail. I understand it saves weight, but again, something to be aware of.

Have owned corvette, mercedes, hands down the most fun car to drive. Makes the hour drive to work the most fun and the top is the best, easy and fast! This car gets attention! Will buy Z again. Love this car!

Great pickup, i love the stick, and there have been no problems. The interior is below average. Its horrible that i couldnt seat more than two people.

Great little car with a high fun quotient. The car is well made and very responsive. Overall, this car is a winner and I have been very pleased with my purchase.

  • Love My Z Roadster - 2005 Nissan 350Z

I like virtually everything about my 2004 Nissan 350Z Roadster. The only things I would change are the color of the clock/radio display numbers in the daytime and the oil dipstick, which seems overly difficult to get in and out. I get compliments and admiring looks everytime I drive the Z. It is especially fun with the top down, but has been very warm and snug with the top up in bad or cold weather. The performance is superb, with remarkable acceleration and excellent braking. The paint, fit, and finish are excellent, and the fully automatic top raises and lowers flawlessly. This is one of the best looking cars to hit the market, and could easily sell for more than the sticker price. Superb!

  • Awesome Fun Factor - 2005 Nissan 350Z

I bought my Z about 6 months ago, and this is my eleventh Z car since high school.....is also the best. Hot looks, great handling, AC/Heat very good, gets LOTS of compliments everywhere I go. Especially for the price, this car is a bargain.

  • Big rear ends are still in fashion - 2005 Nissan 350Z

I wasnt really liking the convertible vs. the coupe, but I looked at them anyway. I traded in my CLK-500 cab to buy a 2 seater Z. Its mostly for weekend drives, but I love it! I like it more now, than when I actually bought it. You must drive with the top down though. You will get in an accident with the top up; you cannot see a thing, whatsoever. The sad thing, is that you will never use 1st gear. In fact I think Ive used it 3 times for the 900 miles Ive put on the car. Now I know why Infinity is making a 7-speed skyline. I looked between the S-2000, Z4, and SLK models. This topped them all.

  • Most enjoyable car Ive owned - 2005 Nissan 350Z

Great car and a great value! Sometimes on the weekend, Ill just take it out motoring with no particular destination. The only other car I do this with is my 1970 AMX.

I love the car. I do not like the fact the VDC does not fully turn off when the button is in the "Off" setting.

  • Z Be Nimble......by Marcus - 2005 Nissan 350Z

This is a nimble machine, which you can tell has nearly perfect weight balance. There is exhilirating performance but I am not going to say there isnt room for some minor improvements. Second gear in this car is a total joy, I would like to see a higher redline and the shift points set a bit differently. This probably has one of the best and most consistent power bands of any manual car I have ever driven. Unfortunately, it doesnt take much effort to exhaust this cars limitations in gears 1 thru 4. I get more compliments on this car than I can count and thoroughly enjoy driving it around with the top down. The short wheelbase is surprisingly not a problem except at high speeds.
