This Year's Model Updates:

Enhancements for the 2005 Nissan 350Z include a standard tire-pressure monitor, heated outside mirrors and a driver-seat height adjuster for both front and rear portions of the bottom cushion. Clutch pedal effort has been reduced this year, and the five-speed automatic transmission now features downshift rev matching. The navigation system has a faster processor for improved route calculation times. A special 35th Anniversary edition includes 18-inch alloy wheels, Brembo brakes, front chin spoiler, rear spoiler, available two-tone leather seats and a choice of three exterior colors, including a new Ultra Yellow. A slight bump in horsepower is also part of the package.

Pros:
  • Smooth and powerful V6 engine, excellent handling, available drop-top version, a bargain compared to anything that can run with it.
Cons:
  • Rough ride on Track model, some low-grade interior materials, lack of luggage space, poor rearward visibility.

  • I hope you like buying tires - 2005 Nissan 350Z

The car itself was great but i found that i was buying tires every 4 or 5 months. i am 47 years old and the only driver of this car. I do not drive fast. I do not burn the tires. I dont even hit the corners hard. I have a friend who owns a tire dealership and he told me he has put on alot of tires for the new Z and they cannot find any tires that last over 5,000 or 6,000 miles. I am selling the car.

Just purchased, so unable to give reliability review. Luv look, handles like slot racer, good power, interior i appeal sparse. Would like tach on top like other 3 gauges.

  • Great car, a few glitches. - 2005 Nissan 350Z

Overall I love this car - it looks great and handles great. The performance is great and though the ride is stiff, I find it to be comfortable even for 2 or 3 hour rides. I get about 19 mpg which is all surface streets, even getting on it occasionally :). The handling is very neutral - not too much oversteer, just what youd expect from this configuration. The interior is, in my opinion, just right for a sports car - nice and clean, a little spartan. the exterior is just beautiful, especially in titanium with the 18" wheels and brembo brakes. I do feel that there are some issues with the build quality. To date Ive encountered a leaking roof, a drivetrane rattle, misaimed headlights.

My new 2005 350Z Grand Touring Roadster compared to the 2003 350Z Touring I traded in is going from sweetness to heaven. The original 2003,serial number was in the 3700s, had its obvious opportunities. Nissan Corp handled the tire issue, the window grease issue and a leather seat issue with flawless professionalism. Knowing this, and having experienced the cars performance and style gave me the confidence to go for the Roadster. Black on Black with the Brembo breaks the top down... 1st Class.. Black tie look.

i bought my 2005 base 6 sod manual. car runs great. had some little problems but was purchased used at 78k miles. thermostat went out which caused the car to over heat, headlights went out. and battery went bad, all simple problems. after owning it for a year. i noticed transmission makes a rattling noise at idle. also clutch feels very soft, ive read lots of discussions saying clutchs and trannys go out a lot in these. also nissan dealerships are never helpful. the car is amazing. couldnt have a better sports car for the money. still looks modern, just know that if you buy one, its a gamble, and the dealership wont help.

  • Its a blast and ego booster - 2005 Nissan 350Z

Great design with matching performance and quality. Owned over 25 autos/trucks, from Ford to Lexus, and the 350Z is the most bang for the buck. The Z is a true sports car and before purchase, test drove the G35 coupe, Corvette, RX8, and Boxster. The Z shines and is well worth a serious look.

  • One of the worse experiences of my life - 2005 Nissan 350Z
    By -

I have had the center dash in my 2005 Nissan 350Z replaced nine times. The radio has been replaced three times and Im waiting to replace it a fourth time. The windshield wipers have never worked correctly and the brakes have made funny noises since Ive had the car. The worst part of all of this is the customer service from Nissan. They have been very rude and very hard to work with. When the car worked properly it was fun to drive. But that was just for a short time. I will never in my life buy an Nissan product.
