All M-Class models get an interior facelift available in one of three new colors, optional third-row seating and a Touch Shift automanual transmission. ML320 buyers get body-color bumpers and trim, real walnut inside, leather-wrapped steering wheel and gearshift knob, revised interior fabric, seatback map pockets and footwell lamps. In addition to these items, a standard navigation system, high-grade leather, and heated seats come on all ML430s.

• Lots of interior space, quite comfortable, carlike ride and handling, excellent snow vehicle.

• Poor reputation of build quality, looks like a minivan, not particularly adept off-road.

  Bought this ML new the first month the radio went! within a year I had to replace a power window switch, Rear pillar panel, and the top of the center armrest. within 18 months transmission leaked.The second winter the front heated seats quit. Not at all what you would expect from a Benz.

  I had it since 2000 it now has 27k it still runs superberbly. My husband takes it off roading all the time, its great.The car doesnt catch peoples eyes as much as it used to because the M-class is all over the place now, but it is still my baby.

  Living on the top of a mountain dirt road, down a 1200 foot driveway - we got 28 feet of snow in 2002-03 - we really need an SUV. This car has performed in all weather getting us safely home, is a pleasure to drive on the highway - quiet and nimble - and has never caused any maintenance issues other than annoying lights out on the dash. A winner in my book - roomy, comfortable, safe, reliable.

  Lots of electrical problems. Engine is loud, doesnt sound good either, slow acceleration. Throbbing wind noise with rear windows rolled down. Fuel tank too small (230mi range) Fuel filler not compatible with certain pumps Needs cutting edge safety features Small cargo area. Wind noise from rearviews low road noise however Good ride and handling, however stability is questionable Comfortable, very easy to drive, great turning radius. great brakes for SUV dealer service is great bad cupholders

  The best M-class ML430 - 2000 Mercedes-Benz M-Class

  First off I live in East Hampton Long island N.Y. where the M-class is rarely seen.But in N.Y.C.(Brooklyn) they are all over the place (ML320350s and 500s)but not ML430s they stand out they look a little more unique because of their bigger rims and smaller body. I love this SUV it is so great it has a powerful V8.Check it out!

  We bought this car with 34000 miles on it. It was great the first two years. Minor things going wrong only. After that many little things went and each part was very expensive. Check engine light was on almost always usually sensors but all the time it drove me crazy. The SUV was very comfy and had all the bells and whistles but not worth the hassle of needing to be fixed all the time. I am getting rid of it tomorrow and it will not be missed.We have a leak in the front that no one can figure out where it comes from too.

  This SUV has been the best choice in an automobile purchase I have ever made. The ML320 is pure joy to drive and I love its style. Ive added 17" rims and grille guards, side rails and tail light grilles all by WAAG which gives the ML320 the "Urban Warrior" with class look. The MLs interior is extremely comfortable and the amazing color screen which acts as the radio/cd/ navigation/phone etc. is amazing.
