The 2006 Mercedes Benz ML550 is a huge step up from the 2006 Mercedes Benz ML350. At less than 1 mpg difference than the 350 the 550 is definitely the king of the road. Buy the ML550 over the ML350 (if you can find one) and youll be a whole lot happier.

Traded a very reliable and fun to drive 2003 ML500 for 2006 ML500 fully loaded. This car with air-suspension is truly an AWD sports/luxury car. From styling to features from the S- class, it finally looks and acts like a true Benz. I love this vehicle and look for excuses just to drive it. Although nav system is better - it should be voice activated. I also agree the clock needs a center location for others to see. The 7- speed is awesome! Well worth waiting for the special order as the upgraded seats are incredible as is the Harmon Kardon sound system. At 4,200 miles no defects, failures, or disappointments.

  • Very Underrated - 2006 Mercedes-Benz M-Class

We drove our new ML-350 from Florida to Oregon and back for 8,000 miles only a month after purchasing it. It handled beautifully in the desert, in the mountains at 9,000 feet and in snow in Nevada. Then we returned home to see a poor rating on the M-class published by Consumer Reports. Unbelievable! We have lost immense respect for CR for a long, long time. And we love our ML-350.

Great SUV, value considering the price of competition. Solid, strong, responsive and nice updated styling. Get it, you wont be sorry.

An excellent, competent vehicle on the road. Pretty good off road too. Very comfortable and safe. Good economy given the size and weight of the car. (Avg 20 on highway, 16 in city.) All switches are where they should be. Computer takes some getting used to, but its easy when you know what youre doing. Practice before you go on the road. AC is very effective. Gearbox is one of the best I have seen on any vehicle. Very roomy inside. Airbags everywhere ! If you want an 8 seater, wait for the R-class. This is the most quiet SUV Ive ever driven...Watch the speedometer. The vehicle is deceptively fast. Besides the large blind spot at the back, theyre worth the wait and the money. Well done Mercedes !

I traded in my E-430 with may more hps but I am extremely happy with the handling of this SUV. In terms of gas mileage, it beats other SUVs thanks to its superb 7 gears. Still it packs enough power to reach 130mph and the handling at that speed is surprisingly good.

Had the vehicle more than a year and we were worried about some of the negative reviews on it before we got it. Fortunately, we got a great vehicle. Drives magnificently. No probelms with any part of the vehicle. Definitely recommend it to friends.

  • Best Luxury SUV - 2006 Mercedes-Benz M-Class

Since date of purchase, best car I have ever owned. Truly the best luxury SUV in its class.

  • Great Car - 2006 Mercedes-Benz M-Class

Ive had this car for 5.5 years now. Its been great to us and has never left us stranded. This is a car that needs an owner that timely addresses all preventive maintenance items before they become repair items, because then it gets expensive. The all wheel drive system is great and it is like a tank in rain and snow. Solid! Good power. Very comfy ride. Plenty of room.

Beuatiful redesign inside and out. No longer rides like a truck. The new V6 puts out more horsepower than most V8s in its class and is super quiet. Much more roomy and comfortable than previous model with too many perks to mention. Pay the extra money for the appearance package which includes 19" wheels, a chrome grille, and Alcantara seating surfaces (looks and feels like suede) MB really got it right this time!
