This vehicle is very comfortable. The navigation system could be improved a bit.Its difficult to enter information at times. In my first year I had to take it to the dealer 2 times, and now working on my third, for things like dying battery, non-operable cd changer and now the moon roof squeaks bad and does not always want to close all the way. I have not had any mechanical problems only small issues so it is all good. Some of the issues have been a hassle but I would and probably will buy another ML.

  • My first Mercedes - 2006 Mercedes-Benz M-Class

You get what you pay for. This vehicle is solid while comfortable and quiet. Rides like a car, great in the snow and rain. Smooth on the highway and delicate around town. Beautiful lines outside and in. A real value for the money. I told my accountant I was looking to buy a car and considering either a Toyota or a Mercedes. "Thats quite a difference" he said. Not really, any idea what the base price for a land cruiser is? $54k! The Mercedes was 10 less. I know 8 vs 6 cyl and whatever but... Even take the Highlander and compare it with the same accessories and you are paying pretty close to what your paying for a Mercedes. Go for the MBZ

  • They could have done better - 2006 Mercedes-Benz M-Class

I want to love Mercedes but they always go wrong. Mechanically is where this car falls. $310 for an normal service is way too much and cost for other small repairs are ridiculous like $20 for a new key battery. We only have about 40,000 miles on ours and every morning on a cold start there is a clicking noise coming from under the car. Also the steering vibrates a little on the highway and shakes when your ride over a pothole.

  • Not bad - 2006 Mercedes-Benz M-Class

My first MB. Has rough downshift from 2nd to 1st gear. Acceleration gets better after 500+ miles. One day after a heavy rain, the CD player failed to eject the CD and displayed "no CD" in the unit and I had to use a plier to pull it out. The rear door also failed to open at the same time.

  • Love it - 2006 Mercedes-Benz M-Class

Improved look of the vehicle over the previous models. The handling is great especially in difficult weather. Inside, enjoy lumbar support, seats, and spacious cargo. Great power with the V8 in our hilly community both freeways and city drives. Finally feeling safe and comfortable during commutes. Excellent car. Needs some cosmetic work inside. Too much plastic but if you choose less options, you get what you pay for.

  • My first MBZ - 2006 Mercedes-Benz M-Class

I love this car. ItÂ’s my first Mercedes Benz. I had a 2001 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer, and words cannot even describe the difference. Im in love, and so glad I waited. I never liked the previous body style, but this one is sleek, smooth, and beautiful. So many heads are turning when I glide by people. Dont see many on the street in Los Angeles though.

  • Great purchase, thrill to drive. - 2006 Mercedes-Benz M-Class

Awesome car all in all. To me, a great value for the quality, style, and performance. Total thrill to drive, and it handles great. Better power than I expected. The electronics are a major part of the fun, the combination GPS, Sat radio, CD changer and single CD in dash, power tailgate all make the perfect ride quality all the more enjoyable.

  • Service indicator lights up - 2006 Mercedes-Benz M-Class
    By -

I just bought my ML350 2006 and one week later, the service indicator lit up and said that I am 350 days overdue for service. I brought it back to the service department and re-set the indicator. 4 days later, the indicator lit again saying that I am 120 days overdue for service B. Also, the passenger door got jammed even when unlocked during a cold spell here (- 30F). This never happened in my previous 2003 ML350. How come MB is always plagued with electronic problems? Doesnt MB test their products for winter weather as cold as Alaska? SUVs are made for winter weather so they should test their products for winter.

  • Balance shaft recall & reliability - 2006 Mercedes-Benz M-Class
    By -

Theres a ballnce shaft problem where MB extended the warantee for 10 years on this $5,800 job. One dealer did not know about it. They still hit me $1,800 to replace defective intake manifold that was not covered. This car has a computer from hell giving false signals on light bulbs etc. Not nearly as reliable as my 99 E430. Truck ate about $10k in repairs this year. I expected a lot better quality from MB but this is true for all German cars lately. Why pay this kind of money when cars casting half are more reliable?

  • Upgrade from 2000 ML320 - 2006 Mercedes-Benz M-Class
    By -

I recently bought this car used, with 29500 miles. I traded in a 2000 ML320 with 78000 miles, which I loved and never had a problem with. This newer model is beautiful, solid, and fun to drive. I dont like all the changes to where things are located, however - the window buttons, cup holders, gas filler, and gear shift have all been moved. I also prefer more traditional knobs to all the pushbuttons.
