All M-Class models get an interior facelift available in one of three new colors, optional third-row seating and a Touch Shift automanual transmission. ML320 buyers get body-color bumpers and trim, real walnut inside, leather-wrapped steering wheel and gearshift knob, revised interior fabric, seatback map pockets and footwell lamps. In addition to these items, a standard navigation system, high-grade leather, and heated seats come on all ML430s.
- Lots of interior space, quite comfortable, carlike ride and handling, excellent snow vehicle.
- Poor reputation of build quality, looks like a minivan, not particularly adept off-road.

Save Your Money - 2000 Mercedes-Benz M-Class

However I donated the car today because you look pretty stupid sitting on the side of the road waiting for a tow truck to flatbed your SUV away. I had the car regularly serviced whenever the wrenches appear on the dash. App cost each time $400 - $800. Service was great until mileage got to around 80K. They tried to get me to buy a new car and when I balked problems began. I wont outline but I spent more than $6000 in repairs during the last 6 months trying to save the car and avoid a new car payment. Save yourself the hassle and buy a Toyota. I donated my ML 320 to charity so at least something good came out of it.

By Damon - January 18 - 1:06 amI own 2 Mercedes. The ML430 has had nothing but problems. I will not ever buy another Benz again. I thought it was just the ML430, but my SLK is also a money pit. Very disappointed with Mercedes

Constant Nightmare-BEWARE!! - 2000 Mercedes-Benz M-Class
By Holley - May 17 - 10:00 amIm appalled at the lack of quality of this vehicle.The shop owns my car.Its my part-time job to pick up and drop my car off at the service department when it isnt being towed.When I pick up my repaired car it always breaks down within a day or so.Ive been following up with MB-USA but dont bother.They send you right back to the dealership who coulnt care less about customer service-and Ive been to three so far!I would love to trade it in but it wont run long enough.Im trying to determine what steps to take to hold MBUSA responsible.Other car makers are completely aware so ML-320 owners are taking the hit on trade-in.BEWARE!!!

Avoid this thing - 2000 Mercedes-Benz M-Class

Transmission shifts roughly and balks at downshifts, rear seats impossible to get up, windows very slow to raise, CD changer rarely works right, HVAC doesnt like to change temps, very uneven and wobbly ride which is incredibly tiring, tiny gas tank in a gas guzzler, etc. etc. etc......

Mercedes Service Managers Nightmare - 2000 Mercedes-Benz M-Class
By Mike Payne - December 16 - 10:00 amThe first day we brought it home, it wouldnt start, and had to be towed back in! Then the GPS wouldnt work, Oh yes, the telephone technology was obsolete from the date of purchase. Mercedes knew about it, but their rep told us, you paid for a phone, you got a phone. Then there are the windows. Ask anyonw who has owned one. The switches are bad. On at least five separate occasions the windows wouldnt roll back up. the cupholders, the Service Manager at Towson Valley Motors said, "Oh,they all fall out!" Oops. Almost forgot the glue that comes up from the window and makes a mess that can only be cleaned by the dealership. Another, "it happens all the time!"

Look somewhere, anywhere else - 2000 Mercedes-Benz M-Class
By Candalerio - April 11 - 10:00 amPoor reliability, serivce, design and material quality sum it up. Endless trips to the dealer for repairs and each requires 4 days while they get parts. Requests to fix things are ignored because "its supposed to be like that". Resale value is a joke: it seems word is getting aorund. I dont understand how MB can have a good reputation producing cars like this. Obviously, I will never buy from this manufacturer again.
