We grew out of our C230 into a ML350. We live on a twisty two lane hwy so safety is a must. 5 stars all around sold us on safety. We love the looks and comfot. I love the cup holders. We looked at Lexus 330 and the safely features were optional, and my tall frame could not fit in the driver seat. Three 1,000 mile road trips a year and always trouble free and we can step out feeling refreshed after several hours. 24mpg at 75/80 mph. and 20mpg around town. Enough power to get out of the way or pass. Stable on corners too. Love the transmission and gear select. Over 45,000 miles and no problems, makes us glad we chose the ML. We also like the 10 to 15 thousand mile oil change intervals.

  • The New ML - 2006 Mercedes-Benz M-Class

This new ML is entirely different than the previous model. It is smooth as glass. With a new unitized body and 7 forward gears, this car has the most car-like ride of any sport utility available today. Performance is surprisingly powerfull. Easy to drive yet rugged when it has to be. This new ML has huge interior space. Makes the RX 330 look like a Tonka-toy when you park next to one.

  • ML350 - Dont touch one! - 2006 Mercedes-Benz M-Class

If you research this vehicle you will find they have problems with the balance shaft and this equals expensive repairs. MB will not admit a problem exists but the blogs show this to be untrue. They have also introduced a replacement (read upgrade) kit to address their non existent problems. My experience has been that a cog on the balance shaft has disintegrated causing much internal damage. The engine had to be removed and parts replaced. 30 hours labour. Can you afford the risk? I currently have 2 MBs but will not touch another one.

  • Many Problems - 2006 Mercedes-Benz M-Class

I had to have the whole engine replaced after 5 trips to the dealer for excess oil useage. Exterior lights burn out. Now major problem with transmission which will not upshift and very jerky. Probably been in the shop a total of 30+ days with other problems

  • Mercedes ML after one year - 2006 Mercedes-Benz M-Class

The ML 350 compares favorably with my old BMW X5 in comfort and design with the following exceptions: Not as sporty a ride as the X5. BMWs just drive more like sporting cars to me than Mercedes. Lack of low-end acceleration. The X5 and ML that I had are both 6-cyl models. I havent compared acceleration times but the Merc doesnt seem as quick. The new 6-sp transmission on the ML has a whine to it that can be annoying. The radio controls embedded within the nav screen on the ML are not intuitive. Poor positioning of the cruise control stalk. Ill be happy with the ML but not as happy as w/the X5. Cant wait for the reported development of the BMW X6!

  • Great SUV - 2006 Mercedes-Benz M-Class

I purchased my ML 350 in January 2006. I have experienced an airbag malfunction warning and most recently the battery/brake warning came on. I also had to take it in because I could not reach Tele Aide. All in all I love the car and get a free loner when there is a problem. I owned a 2004 ML 350 had no problems but this one is much more comfortable.

This vehicle has the best heating and air-conditioning system I have ever experienced. The optional three zone system with infared glass makes it really comfortale in the sun. The car handles very well, the speed-variable steering is a very important standard option. The optional parktronic system makes it very easy to get into the garage each day without parking by "brail". The seats are very comfortable, they allow you to drive for long distances without the normal "back-ache". It is not the cheapest vehicle, but with all the options and safety features is a bargain.

Umprecedented riding for an ML Class. Impossible to compare to the previous ML, but the Air Ride is a must if you want to have fun. Almost noiseless at 70 mph compared to my previous Lexus RX 330 (04). The interior plastic is disapointing for a Mercedes. I paid 65K (fully loaded). The vehicle is a firm 4x4 under heavy rain. I have with the AMG package which is $4K more, but gives an amazing different appearance from the regular ML 350. More interior leather would help the poor plastic interior( a Chrysler feature). The music component and the rear entertaiment system are a plus to keep the children quiet. The cargo space is almost double of the Lexus RX 330. Gas: 18/22 so far.

I bought this car when it first came out and I loved it. but after a month something went wrong with the airmatic so I had to return it for a new one. I just love the ML i got its fully loaded with everything and i think it is just great. This is the King of SUVs.

Great looks and comfort, but in one year has been in the shop 4 times for a total of a month with all kinds of mechanical and electrical troubles. New steering rack, new rear suspension, rear deck closer, thumping into downshift at stops in tranny (numerous software updates), a 6- year old Navigation DVD supplied making Navigation system useless, rattles in body. Pages and pages of campaigns to fix mistakes in build each time I bring it in, but at least they fix it free and give a nice M-B loan car. But when its working, its a dream, and Ill buy the new Diesel ML-320 CDI version soon.
