This Year's Model Updates:

The CLK coupe is revamped this year and its sleeker body sports a grille that echoes the bigger (and much more expensive) CL coupe's. Other news include the CLK430 becoming the CLK500 via a larger, more powerful V8 engine. The convertible ("Cabriolet") models are unchanged.

Pros:
  • Sleek styling, solid chassis, composed ride, comfortable front seats.
Cons:
  • Some subpar plastic trim, convertibles have small backseat and big blind spots.

  • Alot of Fun! - 2003 Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class

For the $$, this car rocks! Forget the "C" class and go for the CLK. The interior design isnt the best but everything else about the car well makes up for it. It is FUN to drive, top up or down. If on a "budget" spend a little extra to chrome the wheels and youve got one sweet car.

No down points. Super car, good looks, great performance. Handles superbly. as smooth at 110 mph as it is at 25 mph.

  • I Must Have Bought A Lemon... - 2003 Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class

Well, after reading the other reviews Ive concluded that my CLK430 must be an exception. I have taken the car back to the dealership for work on the headlights (1x), windows (2x), ABS light (1x), CD player (2x), and most repeatedly, the front bumper/molding (5x). MB should be ashamed of the design for the front bumper of this car. The molding around the fog lamps pops off with even slight contact with a parking bumper. While I will agree the car is peppy and having the top down is WONDERFUL, every drive has be overshadowed with the worry of, "what new is going to happen today?"

  • Poor quality throughout - 2003 Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class

Its common for the front bumper grill to pop off and get lost on st - $400 to replace; MBnz "leather" is cheap, ext thin and easily torn/punctured vinyl; mini spare tire; interior windshield woodtrim placed where it can fade; outrageously designed & fragile cup holder;idles rough and loud - my 91 Lexus w/206,000 miles is smoother/quieter. Poorly placed frt seat belts - difficult to retrieve while std. Many horror stories heard from other owners at the Service Dept. "Chryslerization" of Daimler/Benz. Cheapness.
