This Year's Model Updates:

After last year's revamping of the CLK coupe, the convertible (Cabriolet) follows suit this year, sporting the same sleeker body style, along with a soft top that boasts greater outward visibility than before as well as key fob-operated usability.

Pros:
  • Sleek styling, solid chassis, composed ride, comfortable front seats, fast power top operation in Cabriolet.
Cons:

  • Superlative car but real mileage is poor - 2004 Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class

The CLK500 cabrio is a fantastic car. No compromises with this car--it doesnt even really need four doors because you can drop to top with the keyfob so backseat passengers can comfortably enter standing up. I use it to get my kids and their carseats in more easily than seating them in our SUV. Performance is fantastic. 0-60 in under 6. Ive done 135 in it and theres litterally no difference in handling between that and 65. Braking is astonishingly short. Great car for family guys who want a sports car or tall people--drivers up to 67". One warning though: The real mileage youll get in this car is about 16.5 mpg.

  • Couldnt be happier!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - 2004 Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class

Ive owned the car now for 3 1/2 months and I couldnt be happier!!! I waited a while before posting so that I could give an accurate and honest rating. The 320 is truly a head turner! Its a pleasure to drive, handling is nibble and acceleration is actually quite good for 215 horses. (I used to drive a BMW 540i with 284 horses) Ive had no problems at all so far (watch, I just jinxed my self). I love the ease and quick operation of the soft top. Also very comfortable backseats for my 4 year old! If youre thinking of buying, I dont think youll be disappointed!!

  • Luxury Rocket - 2004 Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class

Not as aggressive as BMW, not as soft as Lexus. Great combination of performnce and Luxury in a super attractive package. Looked at this car because ticked off at BMW service over petty problem...now glad of it! Still, nothing quite handles like BMW, CLK comes close and is much, much more functional. PLUS< DEALER WILLING TO NEGOTIATE unlike BMW who always seem to have take it or leave it attitude, even with current owners(used to be 2 in our case)

  • Best car I have ever woned - 2004 Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class

This is my fifteenth Mercedes Benz and it surpasses any other. It is the smoothest, quietest, and best handling car I have ever driven. It is alos the most fun. I had a 1999 CLK Cabriolet and this is so much better it is hard to believe.

I recently recieved my 2004 clk 320 cab with appearance package. It is BEAUTIFUL and I am the envy of all of my friends. It does not stop there, this car is simply a pleasure to look at and even more fun to drive, I couldnt be more happy.

  • VERY NICE - 2004 Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class

THIS IS MY 53RD CAR...OVERALL #1 BUT ONLY DUE TO THE COMFORT FOR SPEED REASONING. AN M5 IS MORE COMFORTABLE, A LOTUS QUICKER, BUT THIS IS THE BEST OF ALL WORLDS.

I love this car!!! Only problems, 1. Location of buttons on the drivers side door panel to adjust seats are difficult to find at night while driving.

  • EX HOT RODDER STILL LOVES HIS CLK 500 - 2004 Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class

I did a 48 state search for this car (found it 4 hours from my home!) I have done virtually all the work on my cars since I was 16. I have only bought 3 new cars in the 59 years I have been driving. My motto has always been: "I never met a car I didnt need to modify for me". That means modify in all ways. The only mods on this car needed involve adding things that did not come on it originally (such as bluetooth) and updating the navagation/entertainment system. It has the right wheels (AMG) so it is the first car ever that I dont have to change the wheels! It has the right engine - more than enough power/acceleration/speed (and economy considering the performance) (my last "hot rod" was a 1987 Volvo wagon with a Mustang Cobra 5.0 with a Tremec 5-speed - like Paul Newman and David Letterman had!). This car is effortless, smooth and secure. The HVAC is great and I like the "Distronic" Cruise Control. It has the right suspension - it rides nice, handles the twisties great and stops like a race car. It does have some options I dont need but I can handle that since I figure I didnt pay for them. And it looks awesome with the top down (and the top is so easy to lower/raise) - and it seats 4.. Based on how new the interior looks (I am very fussy) the materials are tough as well as good looking and luxurious (but I know that from my previous 3 MBs). So far it is easy to work on (better than my 300CE was) and maintain, especially with the help online.
