This Year's Model Updates:

Changes are light this year. Mercedes' "4Matic" all-wheel-drive system is now available for sedan and wagon models (the C32 sport sedan being the lone exception) and the C230 Sport Coupe's supercharged engine has been revised for greater efficiency and lower emissions. A six-speed manual gearbox is available for the C320 models, and a supercharged C230 Sport Sedan is now available as well.

Pros:
  • State-of-the-art safety and luxury features, three body styles to choose from, pleasing power from V6 engine.
Cons:

  • Baby Benz is fun to drive! - 2003 Mercedes-Benz C-Class
    By -

Ive had my C230WZ Sports Sedan for three weeks now, and its been a really fun car to drive! This is my first Mercedes-Benz, and I do not think my last!! This car beat out Lexus, BMW, Audi, and Honda on my very short wish- list of new cars. One test drive at the dealer sold me on this car. Its frightfully fast for a 1.8 liter engine, and handles extremely well. Im not getting the advertised gas mileage, but the engine is not yet broken in. The bottom line is; "This car rocks"!

  • C Coupe after a year - 2003 Mercedes-Benz C-Class
    By -

I waited a year before writing a review. Purchased the C Coupe over BMW 3 and Acura CL. Car came loaded except for navigation system. 18,000 miles later, it is still a lot of fun. Extremely solid for a small car. Performance is wonderfully tight. I love the gas milage (18K per year adds up). The supercharged engine is provides more than sufficient power while saving MPG. The steering wheel controls are very convienient. Plenty of cargo room. I fit 2 patio chairs and a table in the hatch. The Bose stereo is a must. It can handle a Doors CD turned up to an 11. A great coupe for the price point.

Was pretty sceptical about buying this baby at first, but I just couldnt pass off on owning a benz at such a low-low price.

  • Very Nice Ride - 2003 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

  • A Car With Some Spunk! - 2003 Mercedes-Benz C-Class
    By -

My girlfriend wanted this car based on the pictures she had seen on the web. I talked her into dropping by the local dealership and test driving one. We took it for a spin and fell in love. It felt like we were driving on rails. I am an agressive driver and it will handle some pretty serious turning without loosing traction and the Supercharger helps keep us ahead of traffic. I had an Integra GSR which was almost 700lbs lighter and this stock 230 definately out performs my Acura even with several thousand dollars worth of aftermarket performance upgrades dropped into my Integra.

  • A Winner For Under $30K! - 2003 Mercedes-Benz C-Class
    By -

Caveat: I have only owned my C230 for 6 weeks, but no defects discovered so far. This car, with 6-speed M/T and the C5 and C7 packages including 17-inch performance tires, leather, and Bose stereo, is a blast to drive. Great acceleration in 3rd and 4th gear, comfortable cruising in 6th, superb handling characteristics. Blew an Audi TT off the line the other day - felt good considering the Audi costs at least $6-10K more. Only complaint - ABS not as effective as my previous car (Saab 9-3), and, despite ESP and traction control, doesnt handle real well on snowy or icy roads. Overall rating an 8.75.

  • Best car Ive ever owned! - 2003 Mercedes-Benz C-Class
    By -

This car does everything well! Unparalled safety, even when compard to new cars today, great performance (I live at 9,000 ft. elevation in Colorado and run at 75-90 mph in the mountains between Denver and Breckenridge easily). It gets 27.5 mpg average hwy. if I hold it to 70. With 73,000 miles, total maintenance expense, other than tires, has been under $800. Oil changes are every 13,000 miles and it never uses a drop in between. No repair costs have been incurred in 6 years. Only one warranty claim was experienced 3 years ago for a slight transmisson fluid leak in -15 degree and below weather (a brittle o-ring). Having owned over 60 cars over the past 40 years, this is by far the best

  • Great entry level Mercedes - 2003 Mercedes-Benz C-Class
    By -

Im pleased with my purchase. The cost for maintenance and repairs are the worst aspect of this vehicle. When it is time to do brake work, be prepared to drop $1,000. Mercedes is the only one who can get the specialized soft brake pads with the specialized coating. It handles exceptional for a 4-cylinder vehicle. It can turn on a dime and has uncharacteristically fast acceleration for a small car. Great car for a first Mercedes or for a hand-me-down to a teenager.

  • NO COMPLAINTS - 2003 Mercedes-Benz C-Class
    By -

At first I had to get used to the power of this car. As I did I had lots of fun blowing away other non suspecting 2dr sports cars. it was quite fun and at the ligh they often ask me what it was and I would say c32 amg, they would look at me puzzled.....I guess this car was really meant for the enthusiasts.

  • Newly sold on Mercedes Benz - 2003 Mercedes-Benz C-Class
    By -

I drove the Acura TL, G35 and the Honda Accord V6. I really liked the 04 TL overall and the G35 for its performance but neither really turned me on. I was about to settle on the TL when I saw this almost new 230 sports sedan. I immediately fell in love with its looks, handling, fit and finish; everything. Even though my father owned and loved 2 I never considered a Mercedes. I guess I just thought they were out of my price range and no fun to boot. I was wrong, though I bought used, a new 04 or 05 was not priced badly. This car beats the 2 Saab Turbos I owned hands down. I love this car, its performance, the looks...everything!
