This Year's Model Updates:

Changes are light this year. Mercedes' "4Matic" all-wheel-drive system is now available for sedan and wagon models (the C32 sport sedan being the lone exception) and the C230 Sport Coupe's supercharged engine has been revised for greater efficiency and lower emissions. A six-speed manual gearbox is available for the C320 models, and a supercharged C230 Sport Sedan is now available as well.

Pros:
  • State-of-the-art safety and luxury features, three body styles to choose from, pleasing power from V6 engine.
Cons:

  • Has exceeded my expectations - 2003 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

After two months if ownership, have found very little to fault. In past 15 years have driven BMWs and Audis. Mercedes C230 sedan with Sports package outshines others in just about every category. Value, appearance, handling, build quality (so far), and features have convinced me that buying this car a no brainer.

Just took the 230SportSedan in for Service A this week (13,600miles). In that time, mileage has gone up from 28mpg on the highway to 34mpg on the highway! This car is very comfortable on long trips, and is quite fun to drive through twisty mountain passes. The amazing thing about this car is how effortlessly it does everything! The car never loses its composure, and never causes stress for the driver. Almost the perfect balance between sport and luxury! (maybe a coupla more ponies would be nice)

Lets face it. There is no other small size car with so many features that drives like it. I test drove A4 AWD, G35 AWD, Jaguar AWD. After driving a 94 C280 for 10 years with no problems the C240AWD was the only car able to convince me that it was time for a new car.

  • Fun but whats up with the sound? - 2003 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

I really love my first Benz. It has a ton of power and great fuel efficiency. I absolutely love the sunroof; it feels like the whole world is open and you dont have to pay all the extra costs of a true convertible. I wish more of them came to the dealer with programable seats though. Leather is a must being that the cloth looks like it came straight from K mart. The key is fun and functional. My only big complaint is the stereo system. I used to drive a toyota echo, a super cheap car and the stereo system in there was ten times crisper and sweeter than this, and from what I hear the Bose is even worse.

  • Fun to drive and 30 mpg- no regrets! - 2003 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

I waited a year to write this to be sure it would be valid. This car has been a kick! Ive got a 2300cc with the 6 speed, and have a blast driving it over the local mountain roads. I average 23 mpg city and over 30 on the highway - I cant imagine having this much fun and getting this mileage as well. It handles and accelerates like a pro (Ive got the "wheel" package) and the sunroof is close enough to a convertible for me. Itll be a tough act to follow.

  • Love the Technology - 2003 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

So far great! Love the high tech performance of a world class engine, that is way ahead of its time. This type engine technology is currently being copied by US automakers. This is a real race car engine. British F3 series open wheel cars, which equates too 160mph. They are destroying the other cars that run Hondas. Adaptive performance in a hatchback, is a car that is a phnomenal value in my book.

  • Here comes the Sweetness! - 2003 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

I have been a MB fan since I was 22 and bought a 1997 E320. I had alot of problems with that vehicle. So I finally got a C230K Sport fully loaded. This thing is a fire-cracker! The Kompressor is really the key to this car and it is SMOOTH! Move out of the way Audi, BMW, and Infinti.
