This Year's Model Updates:

Changes are light this year. Mercedes' "4Matic" all-wheel-drive system is now available for sedan and wagon models (the C32 sport sedan being the lone exception) and the C230 Sport Coupe's supercharged engine has been revised for greater efficiency and lower emissions. A six-speed manual gearbox is available for the C320 models, and a supercharged C230 Sport Sedan is now available as well.

Pros:
  • State-of-the-art safety and luxury features, three body styles to choose from, pleasing power from V6 engine.
Cons:

Traded a Sport Ute for this Sport Sedan. Great upgrade, should have done this years ago. Fun, safe & stylish. The new for 2003 Mercedes-Benz "Sport" packages are wonderful. Sporty 17 inch wheels, powerful Supercharged & Intercooled engine, sport seats, its a great package. Looked at the Audi A4, the Cadillac CTS, the Jag X, and the BMW sedans. THe C230 Kompressor Sedan was the best package for the price.

First MB – won’t be my last. Test- drove every comparable car in its class including the G35 SC. Solid ride in a small car, you think you’re driving a tank. Quality better then I expected.

This is marketed as the "cheapest" MB available on the market, but despite its price, it is really fun to drive (6-speed manual) with excellent performance with fuel economy. The optional leather seats and sunroof sure adds up the cost, but its still great price for a car that has the style and performance not far from the CLK320, and looks much more interesting than the ubiqutous BMW 3series. I must add that when I test drove the BMW330Coupe, it has excellent performance too, but my wife and kids hated the ride as front and back passengers, which made them nauseated, so I settled with the Mercedes in which they tolerated well as passengers.

  • Just want to keep on driving - 2003 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

Im not a big fan of long drives. Driving is a chore. Not any more. I just want to keep on driving. I pretty much hate arriving at my destination. Ive driven lots of cars and I just cant believe how much better this car is over the Japanese competition. I cant imagine having more power. What is the use? The engine sound is wonderful. The fit and finish is fantastic everywhere. (look under the car!) Ive recently been in a top-of-the-line VW Passat and it just does not compare. This is such a fun car to drive and drive and drive.

Car was purchased by my wife. It is not too big to handle in small spaces. The car performs well and has very good acceleration given relatively low horesepower. It handles almost as well as our BMW 326ic with more comfort and more amenities. It holds four adults comfortably and the trunk is big enough for two sets of golf clubs and some luggage. My opinion is you get a lot of car for the money and this car is underrated....or more appropriately..never rated. Why they call it a 240 I will never know..it has a 2.6 liter engine. Perhaps they were afraid of a lack of marketing distinction between the 240 and the 320. This car is solid.

I traded in my 2001 BMW 325i & 2002 C230 coupe for the new 2003 C320 coupe in 1/2003. I went in HOI in 1/2003 to check out the new C320 coupe. When I saw the xenon headlight & the 17 in wheel, I fell in love! After test driving the vehicle, I bought the car the next day.
