This Year's Model Updates:

Changes are light this year. Mercedes' "4Matic" all-wheel-drive system is now available for sedan and wagon models (the C32 sport sedan being the lone exception) and the C230 Sport Coupe's supercharged engine has been revised for greater efficiency and lower emissions. A six-speed manual gearbox is available for the C320 models, and a supercharged C230 Sport Sedan is now available as well.

Pros:
  • State-of-the-art safety and luxury features, three body styles to choose from, pleasing power from V6 engine.
Cons:

  • Great car for older single woman - 2003 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

I LOVE this car. I was nearly killed in an SUV after it flipped over, and this car gives me all the perks and safety of a Mercedes, as well as the shlepping capacity of a small SUV! The hatchback is phenomenal. It also has a very light security cover that even a 52" woman can easily take off and on. The rear seats also fold down individually to create extra capacity! The car handles phenomenally-- makes U- turns with ease-- and has excellent acceleration. Its a smaller car, but not so small that you feel as if youre going to be smushed like a bug. Sunroof is nice to have. Radio has AM/FM/Weather band.

As a single guy, I had a choice to either get married, or spend the money on a new Benz. I KNOW I made the correct decision. (No offense ladies) This car is everything I imagined and more. It is the most powerful 4 cylinder I have ever driven, and I get 35 MPG on the highway! Incredibly responsive, comfortable, and tight. I will never drive anything but a Mercedes anymore.

The M-B C32 is not for everyone, which is a good thing because only 1200 will hit the US shores each year. It delivers on its $50,000+ promise: performance, quality, comfort and luxury=FUN. It beats Covettes and outhandles most sports car but it also lopes along in sedate silence like a luxury car when driven conservatively. Design, quality of materials, fit and finish are first-rate. It is a safe and solid car but it can fly when asked. My first automatic after thinking for years that I wnated to shift for myself. My car came with zero initial defects and in the first 2500 miles and 4 months the only thing that needed service was a faulty alarm sensor.

  • This is one terrific car! - 2003 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

Purchased in August 2003. Previously owned a 2000 Audi A6 and never thought Id find a car with a better ride and handling, but the C240 4Matic wagon fit the bill quite nicely. Great styling, comfortable interior and QUIET! Fantastic handling and control.

I "unfortunately" have the automatic transmission, and that has taken some getting used to. Overall though the car is awesome looking. I have never gotten so many complements from strangers on what a nice looking car it is. The color is "orion blue", and I recommend you look at it on any car on the lot. I know that SLKs come in the color, but have not seen it on anything else. The tire/wheel package on the sport model really sets apart the grandma 240 and the 230. Performance for me is adequate, these 189 do just fine, and at 30mpg highway doing 80... not bad either.

Fun to drive, great fuel economy. Only negative is the poorly designed cup holder.

Wolf is sheeps clothing is how I would describe this car. Interior and gas mileage are the only non-perfect things on this car. Interior needs in -dash CD player some of the controls are overly complicated with no apperent reason but the interior is still very nice compared to Acura or BMW. Gas mileage is just a result of being able to go as fast as most Corvettes and the goverened top speed is easily attained. If you have a family and want to have the ultimate car experience and cant afford a Merecedes Benz CLS AMG then this is your car.

This is the wifes car but I drive it every chance I get. When looking for this car we drove just about everthing in the two door 25-40K price range and found the C230 to be the best value. We also liked the BMW 330 but could not justify the extra 10K to get the same options as the Mercedes. And for about the same price as the BMW 225 we thought the C230 was just a nicer car. With the 17" tires the suspension is fantastic, soft and quiet at cruising speed yet tight and stiff on country roads. Engine is excellent, does not suck you into your seat like my 01 Stang GT but that is not the goal of this car.
