This Year's Model Updates:

The new model year brings freshened exterior styling to the C-Class. A new dash, redesigned seats and tweaked trim pieces help to polish the interior up a bit, as well. A new audio system with six speakers and a CD player is standard across the board. Further updates include an improved short-throw six-speed manual transmission and revised suspension tuning. A DVD-based navigation system is newly available, while the C320 wagon has been discontinued. The complimentary scheduled maintenance program has been dropped for 2005.

Pros:
  • State-of-the-art safety and luxury features, three body styles to choose from, pleasing power from top V6 engine.
Cons:
  • More expensive than competitors, ordinary cabin furnishings, small backseat.

  • Ride of a bigger Mercedes - 2005 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

Even though its a much smaller Mercedes class, this car gives you the ride of extreme luxury and handling, solid on the road and with 4matic it holds the road under any conditions!

  • Love my C240 4 Matic! - 2005 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

Just turned 13,000 miles after six months and have loved every mile! The car handles beautifully and has a tight solid ride. The fit and finish is excellent and the new body style always attracts attention. It looks like a 90k car on the inside and has many of the same features. The new body style, interior, gauges, and suspension make the 2005 C240 4Matic the best in its class.

Just bought the car after comparing the Audi a4 and the BMW 3 series. Am totally sold on the Merceds design, quality of fit and finish and performance. It is the only one of the three that is distinctly recognizable as what it is. The BMW and Audi look alot like many other brands ie, Audi=volkswagen, BMW like many Japanese cars. I Love it.

  • AWESOME CAR - 2005 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

GREAT ENGINE LOTS OF POWER AND TORQUE AT ALL SPEEDS AND I LIKE THE 5 SPEED AMG SPEEDSHIFT ADAPTIVE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION THAT YOU SHIFT FROM THE STEERING WHEEL OR SHIFTER. MY YOUNG SON CALLS IT THE FAST AND FURIOUS CAR FROM THE MOVIE, BUT WITH THE LUXURY YOU WOULD EXPECT FROM MERCEDES. I GOT IT WITH NAVIGATION AND ITS A VERY SMOOTH SYSTEM COMPARED WITH MY WORK TRUCK VERY DETAILED AND ACCURATE. THE SOUND SYSTEM IS VERY NICE WITH 12 SPEAKERS FROM KARMON/KARDON. AND THIS CAR HAS THE BEST BRAKING SYSTEM OF ANY CAR I HAVE EVER OWNED. LOTS OF SAFETY FEATURES. ONLY NEGATIVE IS THE PRICE BUT ONCE YOU TRULY DRIVE IT, ITS MONEY WELL SPENT.

  • Great value for the money... - 2005 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

Just traded in a Cadillac CTS-V for a 2005 M-B C230 KOMPRESSOR black-on-black sedan with a navigation system. Not a very powerful vehicle, especially having just had 400 hp under the hood of the Cadillac. Nevertheless, much more fun to drive, in that the seats are more supportive and one feels much more in-tune with the car, rather than just a passenger. The vehicle gets great gas mileage, has sufficient pep from the supercharged 4-cylinder engine and is a pleasure to drive. The navigation system is very user friendly, although could use a graphics improvement. I have no regrets investing in this vehicle. In fact, my girlfriend purchased the same vehicle (but red-on-black); she loves it!

  • Best sedan under $40,000 - 2005 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

This is my 4th Mercedes Benz and I think my favorite. It replaced a Mini Cooper S that while fun to drive, spent more time in the dealers garage than in mine. The MB is just as fun to drive and gives the same fuel economy - with all the benefits of the three point star:(safety, solid chassis and cashe). My wifes already talking of trading her suv in for another C230 Sport Sedan. I even think the price is within reason for the features that come with the car. Look for 2005 models still on the lot - my dealer discounted over $3,000 to move the car. Cant beat that!

  • Best Car Ive ever owned - 2005 Mercedes-Benz C-Class
    By -

My main features: Noise and MPG. Almost no wind noise, very little road noise, and slightly more engine noise. Quieter than my 1995 Lexus ES 300, yet not nearly as quiet as the 2007 ES 350 I test drove. Best mpg in its class (compact luxury vehicles). I routinely get 26+ mpg on the freeway and 20-23 in town. It has tighter German suspension than the US and Japanese cars Ive been driving and it accelerates smoothly and quickly. All in all, its the most fun car Ive ever driven. I actually go out of my way to find longer routes because I enjoy driving it so much. Cons: $200 for 1 key, $2000 to use the installed phone, $500 to hook up my ipod. Ridiculous! Even Cobalt has this free.

  • 2005 C240 4matic - 2005 Mercedes-Benz C-Class
    By -

Ive had the car for about 4 months, and its a great ride. Acceleration from a stop could be a little quicker, but once you get up to speed, this car rides nice. The 4Matic works great in the snow, and heavy rain. The car feels extremely solid for a smaller luxury car, and it handles very nicely. The interior design for 2005 makes a big difference, and looks much better than Audi, or BMW.

  • Sunroof not level - 2005 Mercedes-Benz C-Class
    By -

Just purchased this vehicle for below invoice price. Its fun to drive this car so far. Only issue I would complain is its build quality - Sunroof is not leveled, right side is slightly "up". I went back to the dealer and noticed some MBs also were made like this, but some are just perfect. Dealer agrees to fix it.
