This Year's Model Updates:

Changes are light this year. Mercedes' "4Matic" all-wheel-drive system is now available for sedan and wagon models (the C32 sport sedan being the lone exception) and the C230 Sport Coupe's supercharged engine has been revised for greater efficiency and lower emissions. A six-speed manual gearbox is available for the C320 models, and a supercharged C230 Sport Sedan is now available as well.

Pros:
  • State-of-the-art safety and luxury features, three body styles to choose from, pleasing power from V6 engine.
Cons:

  • Best value - 2003 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

I bought the car 3 days ago and Im writing the review so its about the shopping experience. I was looking for ~$30,000 car. I test-drived BMW 325i, Infiniti G35 sedan, Acura TL, Eclipse GTS, MB C230/240 sedan, and C320 sports coupe. The C320 sports coupe gives me best handling (only 325 is close) and very good speed (G35 is faster, but handle sucks). Its the most lux car in the group. I love the panarama sun roof and the sports wheel. So far, its like a dream come true.

  • Almost a 10 - 2003 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

Had the car for over a year. Been a joy to drive. Have enjoyed driving car everyday. A tremendous amount of comfort & safety features for the price. A little weak in the performance department but adaquate. Full power seats should be std. & not a $1200 package upgrade. Also, cupholder is a Rube Goldberg experiment. Feel sorry for the poor soul that paid close to sticker price. I get a tremendous discount by working for Daimlier but was almost insulted by the trade-in value. Plan to keep this car a while!!

  • Still Love it - 2003 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

This car is still a blast to drive. The fuel economy is good for the power available, but it depends on how you drive it. When you want the performance it is there, when you dont it is a fuel sipping V6. I considered getting a new car, but why, this car is still amazing. Every time I hit the gas from a stop a smile comes over my face. I had a couple of minor electrical issues that occurred just before the car was out of warranty (6 disk cd changer stopped working, drivers heated seat didnt heat, and the visor vanity mirror light would come on when the visor was lowered because the mirror cover would open slightly). The dealer took care of them and The car has been very reliable since.

  • Great driving automobile - 2003 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

Excellent automobile, only returned once during 50,000 mile warranty for replacement of automatic temperature control module. Very tight turning radius makes parking very easy. Manual transmission and supercharged 4 cylinder engine provides for excellent gas mileage. 28-30 mph in town and 32- 40 mph on the highway at 65-70 mph.

  • C320 - Car of a Lifetime - 2003 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

My 03 C320 is terrific! Excellent handling, plenty of power, superior performance all around. I love all the features overlooked by many car manufacturers. I havent had it long enough to judge reliability, but so far its the nicest car Ive ever driven, much less owned.

  • Nice Car - 2003 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

I used to own an Acura 3.2TL. My C is smaller, but feels more solid than the Acura and handles much, much better. The fuel economy could be better. The engine is powerful, but could stand a few more ponies. I have driven this through a blinding snow storm and can say that the AWD worked like a dream. The car handled beautifully. Contrary to another review, this car is easy to park and handles very well at all speeds. It came down to a choice between the BMW 330ix and the C320 4Matic. The BMW drove better, but only marginally. Finally, the BMW could not compare in terms of luxury i.e. dual climate, seats, other features.

  • What a Car! - 2003 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

Ive had Lexus, BMW, Nissan, Lincoln, Corvettes, and wife currently drives a Jaguar X - Type. This C-230 Sport Sedan is the best car for the $$ spent of all. Fast, economical and fun to drive. Highly recommend it to others.
