This Year's Model Updates:

The new model year brings freshened exterior styling to the C-Class. A new dash, redesigned seats and tweaked trim pieces help to polish the interior up a bit, as well. A new audio system with six speakers and a CD player is standard across the board. Further updates include an improved short-throw six-speed manual transmission and revised suspension tuning. A DVD-based navigation system is newly available, while the C320 wagon has been discontinued. The complimentary scheduled maintenance program has been dropped for 2005.

Pros:
  • State-of-the-art safety and luxury features, three body styles to choose from, pleasing power from top V6 engine.
Cons:
  • More expensive than competitors, ordinary cabin furnishings, small backseat.

  • Disappointed - 2005 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

I am very disappointed with this new C- Class and the customer service. This car drives worse than any vehicle I have ever owned. It constantly pulls to the right and the service department only argues over every issue. I got a SRS INOP warning light that said drive to workshop immediately and called the service department and they said no big deal. The next time you bring it in well check it. I had to call roadside service because of a blowout on the right front tire and the lady at the 800 number said the car should not be driven at all with that warning light on and they should have towed the car immediately, which only had 3,000 miles on it. They had to replace the drivers airbag.

  • Love my car - 2005 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

I bought this car somewhat relunctantly, because "the car guys" were not really enthusiastic about it. I think that theyre wrong. I traded a 2000 Audi A4 1.8TQ for this car, and I think that its just as good if not better than the Audi. Its quiet with a smooth ride, and I love all the standard features. I got a good deal on the car, and I think that its a great value for the money. I love my new car.

  • A great little car - 2005 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

I eagerly awaited the arrival of this car as I made my selection while it was on the ship. I have not been disappointed. It handles well, has superb performance, and gets 29.5/30 mpg on the highway. I love the way it drives, the way it looks, and the compliments I receive from friends. The longest trip I have taken was over 7 hours on some rough back roads and it was a comfortable trip. The workmanship is excellent, with not one problem to report after 8,000 miles. It is one of the best car buying decisions I have made in my 47 years of buying cars.

Handles like a dream. Great pickup, great gas mileage for a high performance car. Comfortable seats - surprisingly roomy in the back. Stereo system is excellent has Bose speakers -- great sound.

  • When your New Benz Breaks Down - 2005 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

I bought this car on August 1st and she was in the shop on August 5th. Things happen. But guess what....Mercedes does have 2005 parts in stock in US...or Germany. After two months of driving a loaner. I started with letters to MBUSA. Threat of Lawsuits...etc. Finally, since the dealer was waiting till the cows came home. MBUSA intervened, they have asked someone to send the part over from factory. It is now October 20 and I am still waiting for my car.

  • Many Repairs - 2005 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

Bought this 05 4Matic certified pre- owned two years ago. I have never had a car which was this new, in the shop as many times as this! Valve cover blew, problems with the automatic window/sunroof "summer" feature in the door handle, voltage regulator replacement after dash lights kept dimming, differential replacement, and now, knocking in the front end. Interior feels cheap, radio is absolutely horrible. "Leather seating inserts" are a crafty way of saying "mostly vinyl." Loud clunking of windshield wipers, and blasting loud defroster which first makes the windows totally fogged up, then clears them. Go figure with that one.

  • Love it ! - 2005 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

This was a perfect fit for me. My kids are grown and have cars of there own so it was my turn for the car of my dreams. I could have spent a lot more but thought why bother? It is equipped with everything I need for a lot less money . If you are driving people around all the time the pricier car will might suit your needs but cant really see it for a 50s woman that just likes to travel alone! Germany makes the best cars in the world. Glad I own one !

  • C230 is Better Than The C240 - 2005 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

I purchased a C240 first in 2003 and then realized the features of the C240 2004 and traded.

  • Bye bye BMW - 2005 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

First time I have ever owned MB. Had 3 BMWs and an Infiniti G35. BMWs now run on Microsoft Windows. If you want a car that can crash before you leave your driveway, BMWs for you. Get an eMachine instead. I much prefer German cars over Japanese. I love driving this car. It is very stylish and comfortable. The fuel economy is pretty good. Looking forward to MB sending the diesel version of this car to the US. This car is very well put together and has great attention to detail.

  • My favorite car - 2005 Mercedes-Benz C-Class
    By -

This is the best car I have ever had. I love getting into it and driving it every day. This is my second one. I bought the first one two months before, but some one rear ended me on the freeway and smashed my car into the car in front of me. My first one was totalled, but I was not hurt. I replaced it with the exact same model and even chose the same color, Iridium silver. I am sure this wonderful car saved my life in that accident. We have 3 Mercedes C-230 coupes in our family. I wish Mercedes would continue making this wonderful car forever.
