This is a much different C300 than previous years. Total luxury!

  • Finally...a Mercedes With BMW/Audi Handling - 2016 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

This is my second Mercedes, with the last one being an E550. Ive long admired Mercedes for quiet, comfort, and engineering, and in some instances, performance (such as that E550). None, however, have been road handling champs. Even this models big brother, the C63, is notoriously tail happy. That has now changed. Put this thing into Sport+ mode and it will stick to anything, and in wet or dry conditions. Want the more traditional Mercedes ride? Comfort mode is just the ticket. More than any car Ive driven, the difference between these are akin to driving 2 different cars. The interior is simply superb with respect to materials, just as you would expect from Mercedes. Theres been a fair amount of criticism of the stuck on nav display, and I confess that I had my doubts about it - prior to actually seeing the car. In practice it is far less obtrusive than it appears in photos, where the typical shot suggests that it might be in the line of sight of an average driver. That is definitely not the case. I am only 58", and it causes no problem whatever. In addition, the quality of the display itself is excellent. Would I rather have, say, a pop up type of display? Sure, but in the end its nothing more than a minor, inconsequential factor. One more small complaint...the transmission can seem to get a bit confused at times. At least one professional review made a point of this. I dont notice the problem until I get into stop and go traffic, when it seems to anticipate a shift into a higher gear just as Im lifting my foot to brake. Im fortunate not to drive often in such conditions, but its worth noting for those who do. And finally, a word about the performance. This car will move fast when asked, pure and simple. Mercedes claims 0-60 times at 4.9 seconds, I believe. That is pessimistic. Ive timed it on numerous occasions at 4.5. Perhaps equally importantly, acceleration from 60 to 80 mph seems to take no time at all - and it sounds good getting there. My one comment is that the exhaust note is not as satisfying as that of the older E550. Thats not a complaint...nothing sounds like a big V-8. My wife has said that I now have a cheetah rather than a lion. I find the analogy to be apt. In summary, this is simply the best all around car that Ive owned in over 40 years of driving. Its the rarest of all cars - a seriously comfortable daily driver that turns into a beast (a well-behaved one) at the touch of a button.

  • Best in Class - 2016 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

Best in class comfort and quality. 0-60 is adequate, but the C450 has you covered if you need more. Roomy backseat good for 2 car seats. Very comfortable/adjustable drivers seats. Panorama roof is gorgeous but expensive. Black Ash wood is the way to go. Distronic Plus is great, second only to Teslas Autopilot. Automatic Emergency braking is standard, unseen in this segment. Got 15% off the sticker price but it required a good deal of effort and communicating with 4 dealerships.

  • Best Mercedes since the 2007 E-320 Blue Tec - 2016 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

I thought the 2007 E-320 Blue Tec I purchased nine years ago would never be topped but the new 2016 C-300 has changed my mind. We have had it almost two months and it is a true winner. It has everything you could ask for with economy, style, comfort, and the technology is great. The Distronic plus drives the car on the highway by itself, the LED lighting with corner tuning works well and the other high tech systems including the navagation, are really something although it requires some study of the manual. This one looks like a keeper.

  • A great car - 2016 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

This is a great car. We previously had a 2014 C300 4Matic. I would frequently tell my wife that what that car needed was more horsepower and a quicker shifting transmission. This car has both. The transmission shifts in an instant (almost as good as Porsches PDK) and rev matches downshifts. The handling is sharp and the steering is precise. The ride is good for a car with these sporty characteristics. The seats are comfortable and the interior is very high quality. The nav system is far superior to the one in our prior car (which I rarely used, preferring Google Maps in my phone). I highly recommend this car, especially to those who might be considering an S4 or a BMW M sport line car.

  • 2016 C300; First Impression - - WOW! - 2016 Mercedes-Benz C-Class
    By -

I have had the auto less than a week so my first impression I hope will be my lasting impression. I had a 2015 SLK250 and was not happy because it turned out to be just what it was suppose to be without the "Mercedes" feel and comfort. Then I test drove a 2016 C300 and it sure felt like I was driving a "sporty" sedan but this time it has the comfort and feel of what I wanted and expected in a Mercedes. The vehicle was made to order in Alabama and took about 4 weeks from day of order to day of delivery. Bottom line is the C300 Im driving is truly one of the best, if now the best driving car Ive owned, very smooth and quiet and handles like a dream. The "driver" adjustments for comfort are outstanding. Best choice in new cars for 2016 I could have made.

  • Maybe my favorite car so far. - 2016 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

This car is described as a mini S class. Thats accurate. Its fun to drive, very comfortable and feels like a luxury sedan should. My third Mercedes, its by far the best one yet. The other two were an 12 300C and a 14 glk 350. I respected the first one and like the second one. The new C is way ahead. I got the car during a February snow storm in Maine. Its excellent in the snow. Details: 1. Ride and handling are outstanding. Weve taken it on two, long road trips. At the end of the day we were never tired. 2. The interior is elegant. The Burmeister sound system is terrific--very close to a live event. The front seats are very comfortable. 3. The interior is design and materials are beautiful. MB really got this right. 4. The engine/transmission combination are a fine match. The turbo 4 has more than enough grunt to move the car very quickly. Switch from standard "C"omfort setting "S"port setting, and the car is even quicker. 5. Its very economical--not that its a reason to buy a Benz. In 8,000 miles, I have averaged 29 mpg. Its not without its shortcomings. The back seat is still tight, but that comes with smaller cars. The BIGGEST DRAWBACK for me is the infotainment system controls. The system on the previous generation was reasonably intuitive. This new track pad is a redundant nuisance. I brush it, and the radio station changes. I constantly referring to owners manual to do things. I find that the satellite radio cuts out more often in this car than in previous models. Its probably because the antenna is embedded in the rear glass and not on the roof anymore. Suggested option packages: A. Blind spot monitoring; B. Premium package which gives you the Burmeister stereo; C. Command package which includes voice activated control of your phone, radio, and navigation.

My first Mercedes and I am hooked....dealership was amazing etc etc....cannot complain....I see what they mean about in Economy Drive mode it may be considered a bit more sluggish BUT I am not a sports car driver so I dont need that to be better for any real good reason...love the interior...love........ I have the Sports Package and love it............
