Perhaps the best value on the market. Great fuel efficiency and pep and sporty styling are big pluses. Tires wear out quickly though and front and rear sizes are different. When my Michelins wore out at 15,000 I found some Bridgestone Fuzions that are much better and more reasonably priced.

  • Not Bad Entry Level Luxury Car - 2004 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

This isnt a bad little car. Like others have mentioned it is NOT comfortable for the long haul. Seats are very firm up front and the kids complain about being cramped in the rear. The hesitation from stop is scary. Have almost been creamed a few times because of the hesitation. Those issues aside--fuel mileage is in the upper 20s on the highway, high teens in the city; Its much quieter than our old car- a 2002 Honda Accord. This isnt a bad car, just some quirks.

  • C 240 Review - 2004 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

The car has a terrific ride, fantastic manumatic feature, pretty good amount of interior space, and Tele-aid feature leaves you almost worry free when you need assistance for your car. The interior presentation is simple but very bland for a car this price. The CD- changer should be in-dash, not in the glovebox, and the mirrors are a joke for this size of a car.

I have driven the C240 for 9 months without any problems. It is fun to drive, quiet, smooth, responsive, and the controls are very ergonomic and intuitive. We really enjoy the car....what is there not to like?

  • Excellent Overall - 2004 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

Had car for 10 months. Had BMW5. Now BMW7 and X5. Considered BMW3 but chose this car. Much smoother ride than BMW3. Much quieter than BMW3. 95% of time Im not cornering the hell out of the car when BMW3 would have an edge so why compromise for a bumpy and noisy BMW3 ride? Nothings for free, but this car has exceptional balance of acceleration at all speeds. Compressor w/ a small engine but great gas mileage of 22 to 30. Has full safety features and feels that way too. MUST get full leather and full power seats. Cloth is cheap. Exterior rear styling is a bit quirky. Twice in shop for water coolant level detection - tolerable. Mars red color is totally special. One of my favorite cars ever.

  • Good value - 2004 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

I traded up from a 98 SLK, which I loved but needed more room. The sedan is not as balanced, responsive or sporty as the convertible but overall a great ride. The supercharged 4 is a phenomenal engine, superb torque, and amazing pull available throughout the smooth shifting gears. Ride quality and quietness are acceptable but no one will mistake it for an S Class. Too much body roll on hard cornering. Seats are pretty firm and not enough lateral support. If you normally use cupholders, forget about it! Brakes are excellent. Overall fit and finish top- notch, ergonomics plain but well laid out. Still the best buy in the 35K+/- price group.
