This Year's Model Updates:

Now that the brilliant 6 sport sedan has been approved for production, the Millenia's days are numbered. Understandably, changes for 2002 barely register on the Richter scale. Are you ready for this? An auto-dimming mirror with compass is standard, and Snow White Pearl paint is changed to Snow Flake White Pearl paint. You can also get a Special Edition with a chrome-finished front grille, a black exterior and a black-and-ivory interior with titanium trim.

Pros:
  • Attractive exterior styling and interior design, supercharged Millenia S engine, competitive price.
Cons:
  • Cramped interior, weak base engine, lack of brand cache, floaty highway ride, aging platform.

  • 4 Year Review - 2002 Mazda Millenia

Bought car new at great price in March 03. Still like the looks of the car. Car is very quiet and smooth riding, a luxury ride yet handles extremely well. Main complaint is seats are painful on long trips. Solved problem with a sheepskin seat cover. Gas mileage is good, 27-28 on highway and 22-24 in mixed driving easy on the acceleration. No expenditures on than normal front brake replacement/maintenance. Car sits low compared to todays cars making it harder to get in and out but doesnt bother me. No squeaks or rattles. Looks brand new after 4 years. Great silver paint. If you want a luxury look and feel vehicle without the luxury price this is an awesome car.

  • Wonderful ride so far ..... - 2002 Mazda Millenia

Owned vehical for only (30) days, however I think we made a very good choice with this car. Paid $22.2k after manufacturers rebate, and auto show incentive (that includes trading in a 00 Civic with eleven months left on a 39 month lease !!). Without a doubt, we bought more car for less money than any other. We also have the 4 seasons package thatr added bun warmers, traction control, etc. I highly recommend buyers in this market give the Millenia a try. The "P" version is no rocket, but the engine performs very well, with a high level of refinement. Very quiet. (Keep in mind we traded in a Civic

  • Mazda Dealers at there worst !!! - 2002 Mazda Millenia

I have to say after owning many brands from Hyundai to Saab, there has never been such dissapointment as my experience with Mazda. The car is great. However after only 3k when I returned it to the dealer for an oil change they washed it with a brush and destroyed the paint(black). Not only can I say the dealer was uncooperative, but even worse Mazda has never returned a letter or phone call. As I said in the beginning of my comments the car is great, I just hope that if you buy one you never need the manufacturer to back you up. Enjoy the car.

  • IM SO EXCITED!!! - 2002 Mazda Millenia

What can I say about this car? An All- American (Ford) girl myself, I thought I would never buy a foreign car but I am sold!!! I bought the Millenia after my Ford Contour (still one of my favorite cars) transmission went bad. I needed a car ASAP, and I actually bought the Millenia knowing little about it. Oh, ignorance is bliss. Im so excited!!! I love this car, and I pray that Mazda will bring it back soon! I would buy another one (even new) all over again.

  • A best buy in the near luxury class - 2002 Mazda Millenia

The Mazda Millenia is one of the finest cars I have owned, dependable, outstanding styling and comfortable, (could have a little more legroom in front). The ride and handling are superior. Certainly a great value for the money.

  • My first Japanese and luxuary car - 2002 Mazda Millenia

Mazda provided great incentives for pricing the car. I agree that this is a lot of luxury car for the money. I never dreamed I would pay this price for luxury! Ive never purchased a Japanese car before but Im a changed person! Quality is great!

  • Not a bad car for the price - 2002 Mazda Millenia

I have owned this car for 2 1/2 years, and I am generally pleased. It rides well, has a luxurious feel, and good handling. It is also very safe. The car was slammed into by another vehicle, and I was fully protected. Premium gas is a bit steep, but mileage is good. Very nice family car for the money. I purchased this rather than a Honda Accord, and I am glad I did.

  • Bring Millenia Back! - 2002 Mazda Millenia

This is an awesome car that I purchased after researching among more than 50 different cars. You see, there was a lot to look at and compare; I compared from used to new cars. I compared all of the above evaluation points and after 1 full year of looking between newspapers, car books, magazines, websites, and other means I came up with a few finalists. These were Avalon, Camry, Maxima, Mazda 6 and WRX. After driving the Mazda 6 before making my final decision, I had no doubt in my mind that the Millenia was the overall winner, even though it was more expensive than the Mazda 6 with an automatic tip-tronic transmission. My Millenia S is used but everyone thinks its brand new; awesome car!
